KillerBut the evidence of the boy I once knew, no longer existed. The slight limp gifted to him by my sister when she knocked him also MIA, as his keen gaze watches me with a hard-eye stare. I knew Dexter first from his father's unorthodox connection with the Delroy family. It was a relationship built on a blood oath that was made many years ago. A price paid to secure they had a future that wasn’t coated with their past discretions. What exactly it was, is still yet to be known. And I wanted to know. The Delroy family owned the Kent’s and everything they had. For a high price, the Kent’s kept what they owned, their name, reputation, and their businesses on condition that Kent’s eldest son worked for the Delroy clan, which turned out to be Dexter Kent. I wasn’t certain what they dabbled in but I had my ideas. The Delroy family was famously known for acquiring the unusual piece of artifacts all over the world. What they did with it nobody knew.I made it a point of knowing a bit whe

Killer“When you aim a gun at a person make sure you’re prepared to kill them, if you can’t, then don’t pick up the gun.” Those were the words I told her the first day she lifted a gun, and again on the day she loaded the gun that would end my brother’s life. It was the only warning I gave her. She picked up the gun and in the end, she was ready to kill him and she did.“Now, can we talk about why I’m here?”“The message you sent my wife?” I query looking at him, as he pulls a cigarette out of his pocket.“Yes. I knew you’ll eventually read it. But that's not the only reason I’m here. My brother sent me here to share something with you. A request from a friend he called it.”“I want to know about the message first. What did Sienna do that I won’t forgive her?” It was the question bugging me since I raped her phone, and went through every inch of it to try and understand who would shoot her. Who knew she was there in the first place? A few too many I was supposed to trust blind

KillerMarcus nods, “Bikes are in the garage. I suggest the back road should be the quickest way to get you to your destination.”Leaving, my feet make haste of the distance as I head into the elevator, taking it down to the garage. The two bikes stare me smack in the face, as I turn the lights on. The black and yellow beauty belonging to my sister sits on an angle, waiting for its owner to bring it back to life. I disconnected the battery the last time I came around, knowing she wouldn’t be driving it for a while to come. The charcoal gray, matte demon sitting next to it belongs to her, my wife. It dares me to try it on. I’ve never been a man who believed in the feelings of a machine but now I can say that this one is taunting me. It's reminding me of its owner, the woman I chose to protect and spend my life with knowing who she was. I didn’t think it would be this bad. I never considered this will be her big secret. How can anyone predict that the person you choose to love is t

KillerAliyana shakes her head, “We’ve all hurt each other, and at one stage we made wrong decisions, but I don’t regret that one. You might not believe this Kevin Stone but you are one of the very few who deserves happiness and if it comes in the form of a lost girl who wants to protect her sister, then so what? So what if your love is not a red rose with a few thorns? I’ll tell you Kevin if you are looking for the wrongness you will find it every time and every time you would miss the beauty staring you right in the face, because there is always beauty, even in darkness.”“How do I face Frost? How am I going to tell her what Sienna did? How do I look at Kaleb again?”Aliyana smiles but it is sad as she walks closer to me and places her hand on my arm. This time I don’t stiffen, flinch, glare, I just remain, standing in front of my queen hoping she’d make sense of it all. Her hardened stare keeps me stuck. “Frost knows what Sienna did, she always knew. Sienna was the only other p

KillerHow’s that coding going?” Dexter queries from his ear piece.“Go, go, go,” I hear Marcus from my ear piece.Dexter pulls the titanium door open and we run through making quick work of the next door, which is harder to pull open and I pull a muscle in my shoulder doing so.We enter the four story house. I spot the camera footage immediately blinking red. We rush to the end of the blackout door, and I wait until the red light turns to green. We open it, rushing down at full speed. My booted feet, silent as we run through the passageway. Dexter follows close behind me, as stealthy as a trained operative.I can hear her talking as we get there. She’s waiting by the door with a laptop bag, a suitcase packed, wearing a leather jacket, dark ripped jeans that have seen better days and yellow converse sneakers that I’m positive was once white. I knew she had an issue with black clothes since our last run-in. She liked what the lighter clothes showed, but it showed dirt too easily, a
