Ch. 1 The wedding

Ch. 2 Great Escape

As Reed and I approach the passage door to the keep he bends down and picks me up swiftly as if I was weightless and tosses me over his shoulder. I protest every aspect of this and then he I’m stunned when he smacks my ass harshly and interrupts my struggle “You can keep fighting all you want sweetheart, you wanted to be kidnapped and I’m just obliging to the brides demands. So get comfortable we’re about to make our great escape. I hope you enjoy the look of revenge”. I can feel all amusement drain from my face as I am now certain there is so much more to the family story than I know. What does Reed mean revenge? My gosh what have I gotten myself into? Ch. 3 The Docks

The car rolls to a stop and just like that the driver, Curly, is stepping outside. Reed then pulls the back door handle keeping his lips nearly on top of mine. “Go see what fate decides” humor in his eyes like he’s sure of something yet to be seen. I struggle to get out of the car. Damn this dress for being so fitted. As I step out Curly receives my hand noticing my struggle and that’s when I decide now is the perfect time to make my receptional debut. Reed is out of the car and I look toward him grabbing at the back of my bustle “do me a favor Reed Malcolm and hold this for me” I say with as much poise and authority as possible. His hand takes the bustle looking confused and unsure. I find the hidden zipper underneath the fabric and gracefully spin to allow the dress to unzip while Reed stands there as if I just performed a magic trick. The bottom of the dress drops to the ground. “There” I say to myself “much better”. Another part of my defiant choices in mother in law .

Ch. 4 Secrets out

Reed left with his security what feels like an hour ago. Curly had brought back a bottle of the finest Scotch, and we both managed to throw back a few glasses with awkward silence. Between him having to threaten off two men who were looking for a good time and a man who pretended to trip right into me planting his face on my chest. I’m certain his tongue didn’t trip too. While the party may seem elaborate I’m not quite in the mood. I look at Curly with my glass up in the air, he pours me another dram and I stand up slamming it back. I begin to walk towards the front of the entrance in hopes of getting some fresh air and cool off away from all the noise. He nods once gesturing where it is and as I walk in that direction I decide to slip his security detail for that fresh air and solitude. Ch. 5 Security

Reeds POV This night just couldn’t go smoothly. First I get a runaway bride thrown into my embrace, next she’s making me think of her in ways I haven’t thought of anyone. That god forsaken wedding gown will be the death of me. I can see all of her and she’s smiling with pride fit for a royal court. I feel bad for leaving her at the party with Curly but I had business to attend to. Some fool thought he could cheat the card tables on my dime. Not happening. Security had him ready for me below deck in a barricaded room. I figured a couple jellyfish across his abdomen would get the point across instead of further measures like taking a thumb, or both. Ch. 6 Blood Boiling

Reed’s POV I fight through the needles of water that pierce my skin. It felt like I landed on concrete. I’m keeping my breath calm and steady I have to find her. As I’m under water I can feel hair brushing my arm. Shit! I must have hit her. I grab a part of her and start pulling us to the surface. She’s heavier than she seems or the current must be strong. As I’m pulling myself up I can feel wind brush across my face and I can tell now that I have her by the arm. I pull her head up “Emily” Fuck, fuck fuck! She’s unconscious. I panic fearing she hit her head on the boat. Those bastards will pay. I call up. The guys are already on it though and I can hear the life boat speeding to us, and a spotlight on us. God damn it’s cold. I try to keep her body close to mine to prevent hypothermia and salvage the little warmth that we hold together in the water while keeping her head above water. Reed’s POV I open the door to my suite. The lighting is ambient, low, and moody. It’s surprisingly quiet from the chaos. All the finishes are modern with a full 360 lookout to the water and a private balcony area just beyond. My suite is the top tier of the yacht with quick access to the captain’s command post above. As I turn the corner I catch a glimpse of the medical team working over Emily. They are taking vitals, cutting away her dress , putting warming blankets on top of her, and I automatically make myself as useful. I flick the switch to the fireplace, dial up the thermostat from the wall and I wait. Emily’s eyes are closed as if she’s in pain and she is shivering non stop. It’s killing me to see a woman suffer like this. I’m a fair man, but when it comes to women…. I don’t like to see them suffer. That’s why men go to war. Emily’s POV My skin is on fire. I can hardly take note of what happened. I was on the boat, then weight was crashing onto me. Everything after that is a blur. As I lay there shaking, distant from waking, I can feel hands brushing around my thighs. As I lay there motionless. I hum at the sensation. My heart is thudding but I’m cocooned in a cave of heat that just has me not wanting to move yet. I’m exhausted, a bit drunk I think, and I can feel my toes tingling and my stomach swirling. Then I smell him. That’s when I realize Reed is lying here with me. I havent the slightest idea how I got here or what is happening. I can’t say that I mind though. I’m like an octopus now. Emily POV As I sit back, waking from a deep sleep I keep my eyes closed a little longer. I couldn’t have been asleep long. It’s still seems dark and every inch of my body is aching. A series of glimpses that I thought may of been a dream start to surface as a reminder of the events that have unfolded. Reed filling me up, pounding into me over and over. Edging me to oblivion. My body shutters in warmth at the very memory of it. I’m in my own galaxy of lust and ecstasy. Holding on to what feels good as opposed to getting back to reality and all of its demands for accountability. The hum of an engine makes me peep my eyes open. I’m strapped in to the passenger seat. The road is dark and full of twists and turns. Reed is driving fast without faltering at a single curve. It’s actually a turn in for me. I bite my lip at the thought of him driving into me again. Reeds POV I bite my lip taking in the facts. I took Emily’s virginity like a mongrel just hours ago and here I am driving with a loss for words. For once. Sitting is uncomfortable. I’m so hard just at the thought of bending her over again and taking her slower this time. Giving her the pleasure she should have had for her first time. Slow, gentle, possessive sin. I shift in my seat to attempt breathing room. It doesn’t work and this drive is going to be miserable. “We’re about an hour from home. You should try and get some more sleep”.
