Lahat ng Kabanata ng Pregnant For My Dad's Rival : Kabanata 11 - Kabanata 20

Mila's POV…The only upside of the engagement party was seeing my college besties; Meldra and Emily. We were roommates during my college days at Princeton University. But after college, we went our separate ways, with Emily and Meldra returning to their hometown and me returning to New York.We still kept in touch once in a while, but with our different work schedules, our check-ups weren't frequent. It came as a shock to them when I told them about my engagement with Zaden. They didn't even know Felix and I had broken up.I was happy they didn't ask about my suspension or my family being absent from my supposed engagement. I guess they didn't want to ruin the spur of the moment.Zaden and I kept our distance at our engagement party, the humour of our situation. Throughout the party, all we had were stolen glances at each other. I wondered if the guests picked up on our behaviour. Most of the people in attendance were not even here for me, they were here because of Zaden. Our relation

Mila’s POV…Sharing a room with Zaden on a stormy night was not in any of the scenarios I laid out perfectly in my head. In fact, the entire evening was not the exact turn of events I expected.“You know among all the things I discovered about you today, the most shocking of them all was finding out you have a pet”.“We found him when he was a pup in the shelter, his mother's previous owner was abusive, and animal control saved them both. He was so small when we adopted him “.“During college days, pets weren't allowed in my dorm, that's why I left him here back home, where he would be comfortable, and eventually, when I started ZDN Corp, I couldn't bring him to stay with me because of how busy I got.” I could see the sadness in his eyes as he said it.Seeing Zaden with his family, I had lots of mixed feelings. My father was always so distant, with only business talks, and we hardly engaged in personal discussions. I was at least close to my stepsister, but even she was now distant.

Mila's POV...A text from Eliza was the highlight of my morning. It was heartbreaking when she didn't check up on me after my suspension and accident, but seeing her text asking for us to meet up over coffee, I felt relieved.I knew there had to be an explanation for her ghosting me. I was so excited to see her again after so long, I couldn't wait a second longer for Zaden to get to the Cafe. The past 24 hours have been a roller coaster of emotions. I definitely saw another side of Zaden that he graciously hid. The past 24 hours showed me that there's more to the arrogant billionaire CEO–Zaden Blackwell. I was so glad we were both able to keep our act together during our stay, at least I know I kept to my side of the contract. Zaden assured me that he was still carrying out an investigation as to who framed me. I honestly couldn't wait until the culprit was caught. I need to get back into the workspace soon, and I need to keep my mind busy so that thoughts of Zaden don't occupy it.

Mila’s POV…I slept better in Zaden's room. It was probably because of the wafted scent of honey and wood that enveloped the sheets. It actually calmed my nausea, and his scent was so addictive. This was until the buzz of Zaden's phone woke me up. He was still in the bathroom as the phone buzzed and buzzed. I stood up to check his phone, maybe it was an emergency for the person to be texting this much. The missed calls were followed by some messages:Zaden I am sorry about the engagement party. Please don't let things end between us. Call me when you see this. Could it be the lady from the engagement party who spilled her drink on me? The sound of water running from the shower stopped, and Zaden was coming out. I rushed back to the bed pretending to sleep.I wondered who she was at the engagement party, especially the look on her face when I fell. I didn't even have time to react, with how quickly Zaden swooped in to carry me from the floor that day.I guess the Lady was a fling of

Mila's PovI was already tired from the jet lag, so sharing a room with Zaden wasn't a problem for me. All I wanted to do was curl up in my sheets and sleep. I quickly got in the shower, and once my head touched the pillow, I was asleep.Waking up the next morning I was taken aback by the beautiful scenery of Italy. I could see a large expanse of the city from the hotel room. The scene was truly breathtaking, I must say it's an amazing feeling waking up in Italy.Zaden must have left for his meeting already. When I woke up I found his bed empty. I had my bath, put on a sundress, my hat, and some sunglasses. It was time for me to enjoy Italy while I was here. I decided to carry out a mini tour of the city myself, since I was left to my own devices by Zaden. The low rumble of my stomach reminded me I hadn't eaten since yesterday. I decided to get breakfast first before my tour. I stepped out of the hotel in search of an Italian breakfast restaurant.Finding an Italian breakfast spot wa
