Maya POV.He pulled out of me, rising up from my back as he got out of bed."I need to put you back in the binds," he informed me, before picking up the bondage cuffs from where he had discarded them."Remain in this position," he commanded me, and went ahead to secure both my hands, above my head, to his bedframe. So I lay that way, with my face on the bed and my back to him.I heard him go over to his wardrobe and pull out his drawer, then take something out of it.Returning to the bed, he came to the side and showed me what he had in his hands."This is a massage candle," he began, "I'm going to light it up and drip the hot wax all over you."My eyes bulged, "Is it safe to do that? You're going to send me to the E.R. with that!""Relax," he said and threaded his fingers through my hair. "It's not a regular candle. It's soy-based and has a low-melting point, unlike the normal kitchen candles. It doesn't dry into hard wax, it turns to oil on your skin."Despite his explanation, I sti

Maya POV. Mona was an emotional wreck when her parents divorced in the first two years. She kept crying and saying mean things to her Dad because he had won custody of her in court. In her young mind, she felt he used his lawyer skills to sideline her mom and mess up the situation. Forgetting that it was her own mom who served the divorce papers first. She blamed her Dad for their broken family and always ran to stay with her Mom, refusing to come back home. But immediately her mother gave her the news of her second marriage to Mr. Paul. She completely changed, like a switch had flipped in her brain. That very night she came back home and hugged her Dad, crying hard and feeling sorry for him. It took about a year and six months to finalize the divorce, and a few months later, former Mrs. Hopkins was already getting married. It didn't take a genius to know why she left her marriage. At the tender age of fourteen, Mona must have realized that the partner who moved on

Maya POV.I was stunned to see that the gift that my boyfriend had casually dismissed was a designer jewelry going for thousands of dollars online.Wow.He'd gotten me this necklace as a gift for taking my virginity.Did it mean that much to him? Or was it me? Did I mean that much to him at the time?Knowing his feelings ran deep for me made my heart flutter as I peered down at Mona's phone. We were too busy perusing the photos of the jewelry page when the doorbell rang for the third time."I'll get it," Mr. Jonah's voice echoed from the corridor as he walked out, crossed the living room, and answered the door.Though still distracted by the photos, in the background, I could hear him exchange pleasantries with a mailman at the door."Thanks mate," He said, received some packages, and closed the door.I was just about to glance at what he carried in his hands when I heard him exclaim, "What the hell?!"That made Mona and me swerve around in our seats to face him, automatically. In hi

Maya POV.It was 8:15 when I got to Memory Grove Park.I chartered a cab directly from the neighborhood bus stop and it took only thirty minutes for me to get here. The place was as I knew it would be, dark, lonely, and deserted at this time of the night, save for the few light lamps dotting the building structure and the walking trails. What was Mr. Jonah doing here at this time of the night?I knew he was heartbroken, but was he so emotional to come lounge here alone at night?A strong wind blew around, making the trees dance in the wind. The leaves fluttering and whispering untold sounds, casting shadows everywhere.Feeling an eerie chill run up my spine, I rubbed my forearms and pulled the sleeves of my jacket further down. For God's sake, where was he?I couldn't see him, or anyone else for that matter. Also, I didn't see any cars parked in the lot as I walked in here. It made me feel more suspicious about the whole place.I remembered him grabbing his car keys and leaving in hi

Maya POV.I gazed up at her, too stunned to speak. My throat felt dry and my heart was beating so hard, my chest rising and falling as I realized why she had brought me here.Panic crawled up my skin."What are you planning to do with me?" I managed to ask."Isn't it obvious?" She arched a brow."Are you going to kill me just like you killed Ms. Larisa?" I inquired, even though I already knew the answer. She smiled, "Why, are you scared to die?" Then her face crumpled with anger, "You should have considered the consequences before fucking my man."Whoa! She was now pretending to be the victim."How's he your man?" I demanded, "How did you even send me a text through his phone?""He suddenly called me up for a drink this afternoon, he was so upset but wouldn't tell me why," she smirked, "He drank himself to a stupor and passed out on the table, a call kept coming in, but he wasn't picking up. So I checked the caller ID and saw it was you. I used his fingerprint to unlock his phone, sen
