MAYA'S POVThe arrival of the dead incubus ended the students' trial abruptly. I walk around to smooth Miles and say comforting things, but he doesn't listen. MAYA'S POV The rest of the time I spend in class is just an absolute waste. I don't get anything the instructor says. I'm glad the time allocated for the lesson elapsed before it reached my time to practice because, the level of adrenaline flowing in me right now, I doubt I'd be able to focus without blowing up the place. As Simon leaves the class, I glance at Lux. "They're still searching. Do you think they would find the missing orb?" She shrugs. "I can't tell that one is bigger than me.
