Lahat ng Kabanata ng MARKED BY MY MONSTERS.: Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 10

MAYA'S POV"Who are you?" I whisper, stepping back."Yours, you've called me, just like you did in our last life." He whispers. The room tilts sideways, I try to stretch my hands and grip the nearest surface but my knees buckle and I fall to the ground. My eyelids close shut.Something glittery falls on my dress. I look up, and it's raining fairy dust. I look around, and I'm lost. It seems I'm in an enchanted forest. I look down again at my dress. What am I wearing? A white peasant dress?Everywhere is dark. I rise to my feet and start wandering for a way out. I stop when I spot something glowing blue in the bush. There's a rumbling in the bushes.I squint my eyes, counting my steps as I carefully move towards the thick bush, but I freeze when the full image of the... the thing behind the bush steps out. I raise my head high to meet its eyes.He is sin; black wavy hair that stops just under his jawline, deep purple eyes, and full lips curled in a teasing smile. The purple shirt he has

MAYA'S POV "What?" The Grandmistress turns her attention to me. "The glass picture." I point towards it. I slowly move to the wall and trace my fingers along the edges. Same face... eyes... but yet completely different. This isn't the girl from California; the woman in this portrait looks like she's lived a thousand lives I haven't. "That's just a painting of the old academy." Kylie says without looking twice. I tilt my head sideways to try and see the academy in this painting, but all I can see is my reflection clothed in royalty and staring back at me. "You don't see the woman?" "Who?" She frowns and glances away. "That's just stone and dark clouds." I turn to Kylie. Can't she really see what I'm seeing? "Forget it, I'm probably just seeing things because I'm in a stupid academy." I sigh, but a chill runs down my back if this academy doesn't have any record of me. Why am I here, then? "You should go on to your classes now." I nod, then I sprint. I have no idea where I'm r

MAYA'S POVHe quickly looks away when he catches me staring. He's really muscular, wearing a sleeveless shirt that highlights his strength and burnt skin. He looks smoky, like he's just walked through a fire. He has red spikes and amber eyes that look like they are on fire. His pants blend with the color of his hair. There are tiny scales on his jaw and collarbone, and a few scattered on his arms; he's not just a man... he's something else.I feel my skin burn from just staring at him. So I look away and finally glance at Jaden, but he's smiling like he knows what is going on.The professor runs up to me and pours the warm glowing potion he mixed on my body. I close my eyes, and when I reopen them, everything is back to normal. The class looks calm, the leaves, the ground, the objects—it's like nothing happened. Is it magic?"Maya Carter, new recruit." The professor waves his hands dramatically in the air, but his voice comes out flat as he introduces me.There are lots of students ga

MAYA'S POV I crane my neck to see the face of my killer, but the vision fades, and I gasp as the sound of Maddox's voice yelling for me to get off him draws me back to the class. I look around and slowly stand to my feet, my entire body trembling from the shock of what just happened. What the hell did I just see? Was that a vision? But I'm not dead; I'm still very much alive. Well, that shouldn't disturb me. My only focus should be an escape out of here, but somehow the revelations about my past keep dragging me back. I'm still coughing and trying not to choke as I find my way to the dispenser in the corner of the room. How is there a dispenser in this backward academy? Every technology I've seen in this place has been like a mocking reminder that this isn't the medieval dungeon I first imagined. "There's more advanced technology than this. Wait till you visit the library and quarters..." A female voice answers in my mind as footsteps approach. I turn around to see the pink-haired

MAYA'S POV My body hums and trembles with so much energy. Mirrors, windows, jewelry and everything that has glass or is reflective flies towards me like I have a fucking glass magnet on me. I scream and use my hands to block my face and eyes, so I won't get hurt.I struggle to get a hold of myself. I'm either supposed to transform into something or use these glasses to form something, but I'm helpless right now. I glance at Maddox, and my nails are gradually turning into claws, my arm is getting hairy. "No, no, shit!" I look away and glance at Jaden, but my skin starts turning pale and I feel an uncontrollable blood thirst. I tear my gaze away from him and look down. What the hell is wrong with me? I can feel every creature's essence burn into my skin—the wolf's rage, vampire's hunger, and the mirror call all fighting to claim me at once."Mirror magic?.... Her magic mirrors the powers of beings closest to her. Is she the hex queen?" The instructor begins forming all sorts of theor
