The next day was a Saturday. Theon let out a long, slow breath. “Well.” He replied “Same place she has been since the day her spell broke. You didn’t think she came up with this crap on her own did you?” Naomi laughed softly to herself. “Oh man. She is not that smart and definitely not that powerful. The potion she fed me alone was the work of an elder witch. Lilian wasn’t smart enough to be able to read the name of some of the ingredients in that potion”. Theon smirked knowing she was right. “Do you know who they are?” Theon asked “No but I could if I was close enough to them.” She replied, sipping on her coffee and enjoying the confused look on Theon’s face

Naomi decided to work from home the next day. She intended to keep her dinner date with Theon but staying at home for the day meant she could at least keep contact with him to a minimum. Also without people watching them. Sitting at her desk, she watched Alex sitting on his special tiny armchair eating his carrot snacks and watching Bluey like he was afraid to blink in case he missed anything. Smiling at the sight of her sweet little boy she thought about how she was going to tell Theon he had a son. Really, given the way he was already trying to push the idea of going back to the pack, Naomi was reluctant to tell him as it meant he would be even pushier about it. But then whose to say being around his pack and his family may not help his health and although Lottie had helped a lot, parenting a sick child and working full time as a single parent had started to wear her down. By the time they arrived at her apartment Naomi was a bundle of nerves. Alex was too little to realise what a father really was and that he didn’t have one so she never worried about him feeling like he missed having one but she had never addressed the subject either. Alex had only asked about his Daddy once and she told him that he loved him very much but was busy looking after lots of people who needed him, far away, which was neither true not untrue. When she woke up the next morning Naomi was initially unable to figure out what the heavy, warm thing draped across her stomach was, or what the soft breathing noise was next to her. Opening her eyes she turned her head to see Theon sleeping soundly next to her.
