KAI'S POVThe morning sun was a brutal, unforishing glare, as I squinted against the assault, my head throbbing with a dull, confused ache. The space beside me in the enormous bed was cold. Profoundly, emptily cold. The events of the night came rushing back—the whiskey, the confession, the feel of his hands on my skin—a sensory overload that now left a bitter aftertaste. I threw the heavy duvet back, my naked body flinching in the cool air. “Professor Kai?” My voice was a hoarse croak, swallowed by the room’s expansive silence.I checked the lavish bathroom, the walk-in closet, even peering into the empty mini-bar corner, and then the corridor, Nothing. He was just… gone. My heart began a frantic, panicked rhythm against my ribs. I slumped onto the edge of the mattress, the fine linen now feeling cheap and coarse against my skin. I buried my face in my hands. What did I do wrong? The questions were a torrent, each one a sharp stone in the stream of my anxiety. Was I too eager? T

ETHAN'S POVThe cold morning air bit at my cheeks as I stepped off the bus, the metallic taste of impending rain already on the wind. I tugged my coat tighter, hurrying through the college gates. The campus was a blur of vibrant, busy students, a stark contrast to the dull, heavy weight sitting in my chest.Trust me, I’m not fine one bit.My heart felt sour, my mind a raging storm of unanswered questions. But my instincts screamed at me to let it go, to focus. I needed to forget about Professor Kai. He got what he wanted, from me, and now I’m just another one of his dirty, forgotten games. That’s all I was, and that’s all I’d ever be to him.I didn’t want to see him today, and I was certain the sight of me would disgust him. He’d ignore me, look straight through me. He’s a player, I concluded, the thought a bitter pill.I needed to focus on Karina. She was the one who cared. She was the one who had always been there. Maybe I was straight after all? Maybe I was just fooled by

The lecture droned on, a distant hum beneath the static in my mind. The lectural’s words dissolved into meaningless noise before they could reach me. I was entirely elsewhere, trapped in a loop of a single, searing memory: Professor Kai’s piercing look from across the campus grounds. What was that look?It wasn’t the cool, detached mask of the academic. It was something else entirely—something raw, conflicted, and hungry. It was a look that had burrowed under my skin and refused to leave.“...and we’ll put this class to an end now,” the lecturer, Mr. Davis, announced, snapping his briefcase shut. And the spell broke! Chairs scraped and students flooded the aisles, a river of backpacks and chatter rushing for the door. I remained seated, adrift in the sudden silence. I’ve centered my entire world on him, and it's hurting me really bad. This fixation was a vortex, and I was spinning in the center, and I know that I have to let him go. It was just… a thing, it's was forbidden thin

Pedro’s eyes bored into me, a flicker of genuine shock breaking through his usual mask of control. He wasn’t expecting this. He wasn’t expecting me to ask, to demand. I always obeyed, I was his blunt instrument, his loyal dog. But not anymore. The man from the past, the humiliation, the lies—it had all changed something fundamental inside me. I was done being a pawn, and I needed the truth, and I would tear it from him if I had to.“Okay,” he finally said, the word dragged out like a concession. A deep, dissatisfied frown etched itself onto his face. “If you want to know the truth so damn bad, I’ll tell you.”“I’m all ears, Pedro,” I replied, my voice flat, as I leaned against the cool window rail, the solidity of it grounding me as I prepared for the storm. He sank into the massive leather chair behind his oak desk, the dim light of the backroom casting deep shadows across his features. His gaze was a physical weight. “Reasons? Alright, kid. But you listen close. This isn't some

The next day was Friday, and I was a study in controlled chaos within my own mind. I spent the morning rehearsing conversations that would likely never happen, my thoughts a frantic script of things I wanted to say to Professor Kai. I even jotted down possible replies, my handwriting a nervous scrawl across a page I would later tear up and discard. It was a futile exercise, but it gave my restless energy a place to go.I arrived at the lecture hall early, a familiar ritual of seeking solace in my usual spot. But the universe, it seemed, had other plans. My stomach plummeted.Sarah was sitting in my seat.Oh God! What does she want from me now?“Oh… hi, Ethan,” she chirped, waving a hand the moment she saw me approach.“Hi…” I managed a curt reply, my feet slowing to a halt before her, it's a silent standoff.“C’mon, sit here. I was waiting for you,” she said, her voice sickly sweet.I just stood there, my mind blank with a confused sort of anger. She was doing too much. “You’re sit
