Victor’s POV I burst through the hospital doors like a storm that had finally broken loose. My heart was pounding so hard I could feel it in my throat, each beat sharp and angry. The cold air inside hit me like a slap, carrying that sharp hospital smell, disinfectant, medicine, and something else I couldn’t quite name. The bright white lights above made everything look too clean, too calm, while inside me everything felt messy and loud. Two nurses behind the front desk looked up at the same time. Their eyes widened the second they saw my face. I must have looked like trouble, jaw tight, fists clenched, every step fast and heavy.
