Rhett’s POV A COUPLE OF HOURS LATER THAT SAME DAY The moment the car crosses the boundary line of the pack territory, I feel it. That familiar terror beneath my skin, the pull of the land, the bond to every wolf who calls this place home. Normally, it steadies me. But today as I arrive, it tightens like a warning. The guards at the gates straighten too quickly when they see us. One of them meets my eyes, then looks away, jaw clenched like he’s holding back words. That alone tells me everything.
