Danielle’s POV I place a hand over my head, as my eyes flutter open a couple of hours later, and the first thing I see is him. Rhett. I find him standing beside the bed, arms crossed over his chest, watching me like he’s been there for hours. My heart jolts in a second, as I jerk upright, clutching the blanket to my chest. “What—what are you doing?” His expression doesn’t change, instead he parts his lips to respond. “You finally decide to wake up,” he says evenly, though something flickers behind his calm tone.
