Chapter 39 ~ ELENA’S POV ~ I woke up to the room empty. Adriano was nowhere to be found. A soft groan escaped me as I rubbed my eyes, still half asleep. I pushed myself up from the bed and made my way to the bathroom, splashing my face with cold water to shake off the morning haze. After freshening up, I sat at the edge of the bed, staring at the empty space beside me. Where had he gone? Should I call him? My fingers hovered over my phone, but I hesitated.
