Hours must have passed, because when I glanced out the open window of Cassian's bedroom, it was dark outside. Cassian and I lay on the bed, atop the sheets, a slight sheen of sweat on our bodies. I was sprawled against him, feeling like I could barely move my limbs, and his grip on my waist was loose. Our hearts had calmed their incessant pounding, and now beat slowly, softly, in time with each other. My stomach rumbled, breaking the silence, and Cassian started to pull away. "Stay," I said, holding on to him. "You need to eat," he replied. "I can't believe I let you go this long without food." "I wasn't hungry," I said, still holding on to him. "You are now. And honestly, you should be. You haven't eaten real food in weeks." "But I wanna stay in bed," I whined, pouting up at him. He chuckled. "You stay in bed then.
