Lahat ng Kabanata ng Spirit bound by the Alpha's curse: Kabanata 111 - Kabanata 120

I definitely did not feel good about going to meet this "Coven Master". It was obvious he was the real power here. What if he decided not to hear us out at all and just ordered us to be tossed out of the settlement? Or worse...Also, when I first arrived at Silver Creek, I thought the stares I'd been getting were a lot. They were nothing compared to the stares we were getting now. The settlement looked very similar to a small pack. Houses lined the street, and as we walked past, people stopped what they were doing to stare. It was like they already knew, without anyone having to tell them, that we were wolves. How could they tell? It also felt like the looks I was getting were more intense than the others. I realized it was probably because Cassian was carrying me like I was an invalid. My fave reddened. "Put me down," I said lowly. "What?" Cassian gave me an incredulous look. "You can't walk." "I can manage," I hissed. "Put me down." Saying no more, he set me on my feet, and

Cassian and I were silent as we were both led to the room we would be staying in. After what happened with Saoirse at the town hall, no one would give us any answers. They'd just herded us away while the Coven Master ordered that Saoirse be carried out. I was worried, to say the least. The room we got to was small, with dirt walls, and a single bed in the corner. Cassian raised an eyebrow as he looked around. The witches who escorted us here stopped at the door. One of them glared at us. "Do not try to leave. The consequences will be severe." They shut the door behind them, and we heard the lock click. As if that could truly hold us in."Well," I said. "This is cozy." It was a little more than a cell. But at least it had a bed with sheets. Cassian was quiet. He walked to the window and looked outside. I collapsed on the bed, groaning. "What do you think will happen to Saoirse and Barry," I asked softly. "They'll be fine. It's us we should be worried about. The whole bizarr

I'd always been a light sleeper, but that night, I slept with one eye cracked open in case the witches tried to use one of their cloaking spells to get past me. Who knows what they would do? They could try to take Iris away from me, or worse. I could still remember the panic I felt when I saw those men try to pull Iris away from me. I would have done worse to them than just toss them aside if I hadn't been making a conscious decision to not hurt them. Our packs had been taken and searched, but we were not searched. A mistake on their part since Iris's cold iron dagger was now in my hand, unsheathed and ready to end the life of the first person to try something stupid. If I hadn't been half awake already, I would have missed the door opening completely silently. There was no one there, and no sound. Which meant someone was there, with a cloaking spell. And they were coming right for Iris and I. I clutched the dagger tightly, ready to strike out, when Saoirse suddenly materializ

"They will come after us," Saoirse said. We all sat around the fire, eating what passed for dinner. We were fast running out of trail rations, and would soon have to hunt more often for meat. But that was only until we could get back to where Cassian's Humvee was parked. Once there, it would only be a two or three day trip back to Silver Creek. "But they've retreated already," Barry pointed out. "What's the point of trying to chase us again when we already got away? They would only be putting themselves in danger." "They stopped the chase," she replied, "because they didn't know about the scrolls I took. They just wanted to capture Cassian and make him pay. But now, everyone will know what I did. And what Cassian did. They will want revenge." Cassian scoffed, his arm over my shoulder, holding me to his side. "Let them come." "Did you really have to cut out his tongue?" Saoirse asked. "You shouldn't have done that." Cassian's expression was unchanging. "He insulted my mate,

I was hardly away from my pack for long periods of time, but whenever I did, I could always feel it taking a toll on me mentally. The mental bonds that tied me to the pack members grew taut with distance, and I always longed to return home. This time was no different. I could also always tell when there was something wrong with my pack or its members. Which was why immediately we got close enough, I was on high alert. I couldn't explain the feeling I got. I was tense, and getting a general feeling of urgency from the pack. I thought of mindlinking Max to ask him, but decided against it since I would be seeing him soon, and it was always better to talk face to face. I got my first proof that something was wrong when halfway to the pack borders, we were stopped by sentries. Usually, the warriors kept to the borders of the pack and didn't venture out to no-man's-land unless there was a suspected threat. They stepped out of the forest, standing right in the middle of the road that l
