Unexpected Encounter のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 21 - チャプター 30

Adam paced back and forth, restless. The thought of Samantha getting hurt because of him was eating him alive. Worst of all, the guilt—he knew it was his fault. If he hadn’t flagged her down that night and forced his way into her car, none of this would be happening. But then another thought slipped in: if it hadn’t been for that exact mess, he never would’ve met her.“Calm down, Adam. You’re gonna give yourself a heart attack,” Sophia said.“They should be here any minute, and Doc Carlos too. I called him like you asked,” Caio added.Adam went to the window again, staring out like he could will the car to appear. Caio and Sophia exchanged a quick glance. He looked away fast. Every time their eyes met, he felt exposed. She was beautiful, and being secretly in love with her made him terrified he’d give something away—and she’d tell Adam.Caio stepped back and dropped into a chair. Standing there stressing wasn’t going to make them arrive any faster. The irony? The people waiting anxiou

Adam left Samantha’s room and went straight to his own. He poured himself a glass of whiskey from the side table and walked to the window. Standing there, his mind drifted back to that night—her hands carefully cleaning the blood from his stomach. He could still picture her face up close: the way she’d blush and get flustered whenever he pushed a little too far. A smile tugged at his lips before he could stop it.He closed his eyes and shook his head, trying to shut it down. He was scared of falling for Samantha. And honestly, it wouldn’t take much. But the fear of getting burned again was louder. He remembered meeting Sabrina—how sweet and shy she’d seemed at first, only to turn into someone completely different. He didn’t think he could handle another disappointment like that. His love life had never been great. There was always someone on his arm, but never for *him*—just for who he was and what he could give them. In the end, keeping anyone real close with the life he led wasn’t e

The door clicked shut, and Adam pinned Samantha against it. The kisses turned hotter, more urgent. Ever since he’d watched her tend to him that night, he’d wanted to taste those lips. He’d almost done it in the hospital, but here, now, he could finally explore every inch of them.Samantha felt his arousal—hard and insistent against her as he pressed closer. Adam untied the robe’s belt with one tug, sliding it off her shoulders without breaking the kiss. His hands found her waist again, guiding her backward until the bed hit the back of her knees. He eased her down onto the mattress. He pulled back just long enough to look at her—spread out on his bed, chest rising fast with every breath, thick thighs bare, slim waist accentuated by the silk nightgown riding up.The sight of her like that was pure fire.Samantha gazed at him with pure lust. It was thrilling to see that raw desire in his eyes. It felt good—damn good—to know someone could want her this badly. She could see the obvious bu

The two of them stepped out of the shower wrapped in robes. They’d spent way longer in there than planned—hands wandering again, picking up right where they’d left off.Samantha grabbed the nightgown and panties from the sofa, ready to head back to her own room. Adam noticed and didn’t want her to go.“Stay here tonight?”“It’s better if I go back to my room. I might bump your wound in my sleep,” she said, gathering her things. It was the only excuse she could come up with on the spot. Everything had spiraled completely out of her control. She needed space to get her head straight. Though when it came to Adam, reason seemed to vanish the second he looked at her.“I’m sure we’ll have plenty of chances for that,” he said, a hint of disappointment in his voice. She didn’t reply. After what had just happened in this room, she didn’t doubt he was right. But agreeing outright felt too easy, too soon.“Good night, Adam,” she said, turning to leave.Adam didn’t want her walking out like that.

Samantha thanked the woman in the kitchen and followed Marcos out. The moment they were out of earshot, the women exchanged glances and started whispering.“Is that Mr. Adam’s new girlfriend?”“She’s really pretty.”“At least she doesn’t seem stuck-up like Sabrina. I couldn’t stand that little princess.”“You girls should be working instead of gossiping about the boss’s life,” the older woman scolded. The three younger ones scattered, getting back to their chores. The older lady glanced once more in the direction Samantha and Marcos had gone, a small smile tugging at her lips.“I have a feeling things are about to change around this house,” she murmured, then turned and went back to her tasks. As Samantha walked toward the dining room with Marcos, she took the chance to make small talk and dig a little deeper.“So… how long have you worked for Adam?” she asked, keeping her tone casual.“Did he give you a hard time?” she blurted out of nowhere.“Huh?” Marcos asked, caught off guard.“Y
