She smiled warmly at me and covered the wounds with a plaster. “It's not that bad, right?" Alex suddenly asked and the nurse turned her attention towards him. “No, it's not," the nurse replied. Alex sighed and squeezed my shoulder, leaning closer to stare at my palm closely. He had been sitting beside me since the nurse started dressing the wounds and hadn't left my side, even for a second, and he hadn't taken his eyes away from my face. He was always whispering soothing words to me whenever the pain struck. “You don't have to be so worried about me, I'm fine now," I muttered but he shook his head. “No, I'm fine being here, besides, I would be home if I wasn't here," he said and my brows raised. “Then… you should have gone home," I replied.
