All Chapters of My Pretty Little Kitten : Chapter 31 - Chapter 40

DmitryI am either losing my fucking mind, or Gianna is actually here, at the tracks she claims to hate, in the arms of Braide fucking Langley.Anger coils tight in my skull, hot and blinding. I blink hard, trying to steady it, but then she startles like she heard something. Like she heard me. The next second she’s pulling out of his arms, eyes scanning the crowd frantically. So she did hear me.I step fully into the garage, forcing my posture loose, my expression unreadable. Calm on the outside. Anything but on the inside.“If it isn’t the king of the tracks, Dmitry Orlov,” Braide drawls. “To what do we peasants owe this rather homely visit?”I scoff. He’s lucky Gianna is standing right there. Otherwise he’d be face first in dirt already.“What are you doing here, Gianna?” I demand. Her eyes widen, guilty in a way that hits something ugly in my chest. Like she knows she shouldn’t be here.“I…” She inhales, then looks straight at me, something shifting in her expression. Something col

GiannaThree thousand, four hundred and twenty-one.That’s how many seconds I’ve been locked in this place. Yes, I counted. Twice. My heart has stopped at least eight times in that span, and for once I’m not even exaggerating. The air feels more heavier, and congested like there's plenty of us here and not just me and the cold floor doesn't do anything to help my nerves. My phone's useless here too, I tried calling Kevin and just like every darn horror movie there's no signal here.I tap my phone again anyway, switching on and off the airplane mode, my eyes widen at the sight of one bar and I rush to call Kevin again but it disappears.“Yes, yes,” I whisper, rushing to call Kevin. And just like every freaking movie, the bar disappears complete. “God,” I whisper, my voice cracking. “Please.”I do not even know what I am pleading for anymore. A signal bar to come back. For someone to burst through the door and save me. Anything at all that will get me the fuck out of here. I can feel

Braide“What do you want?” I ask lazily, my eyes fixed on my phone.Dmitry clenches his teeth so hard I hear a faint crack before he steps closer. That must have hurt.“Where’s Gianna?” he grits out, and I can’t help the smile that pulls at my lips.So untouchable Orlov finally has a weak point. And of all people, it’s his best friend’s sister. Alec will kill him once he wakes up and realizes just how well Orlov has been catering to his little sister.“I don’t know,” I say lightly. “I saw her run away from your clutches.” I tilt my head. “Did she finally see you for the piece of shit you are?”He stalks toward me, his fists clenched tight at his sides, shoulders rigid with barely contained anger. “It is not my fault Sylvia didn’t want anything to do with you.”My jaw tightens. I keep my face neutral, but my own fist curls, nails biting into my palm.“Keep her name out of your mouth.”Dmitry smirks. “I see you’re still waiting for her to want you.”“You made her leave!” I snap.Sylvia

DmitryKitten sure knows how to be feisty. She might be unaware of the fact that she is speaking with me, but that does not make her words sting any less.“Why?” I force out. “What could your ex have done to ruin your evening?”She lets out a muffled groan. I assume she is screaming into her pillow or mattress.Damn. It is both hilarious and a little hurtful that she feels this frustrated just thinking about me.I cannot be all that bad. Right?“What didn’t he do?”“For starters, who confesses their undying love to their ex and then leaves them abruptly right after they receive the saddest news of their life? Well, my ex does. And when I leave the house to try to clear my head, I catch him in the arms of another woman. Typical.”That is not exactly how it happened, but when she puts it like that, then sure, I am the deepest jerk of all jerks with absolutely no excuse.I want to vouch for myself, say a good word or two in my defense, but I cannot push it. I cannot annoy Gia any further

GiannaThe rest of the day blurs as we play with Brianna, who is an absolute darling.I won’t deny that I expected a brat, but she’s anything but that. She’s gentle with the maids and careful not to upset anyone.“Gia, I’m happy you’re my brother’s girlfriend! He’s always alone.” She beams up at me with those big, sparkling eyes, and my heart warms, ignoring the “girlfriend” part completely. She seems really close to Kevin, and from the way he watches her, he feels more like a father than a brother.“As long as you’re his sister, I’ll never leave his side. You’re so adorable, Bri.”Her eyes light up at my words, and she rushes over to Kevin, who’s at a cotton candy stand in the playpen. That is when I finally understand why it exists.I watch the siblings smiling at each other. They remind me so much of me and Alec, how I leaned on him and how he was always the best human to exist in my world. The girl from the accident resurfaces in my mind. I push the thought down. This isn’t the ri
