Marla’s POV I had learned long ago that power was best enjoyed from the shadows.From there, you could watch everything without anyone ever realizing you were the one holding the strings. I stood at the edge of the upper corridor of the Nightnoor pack house, half-hidden behind a pillar carved with old runes and below me, the pack moved with forced order.Some wolves pretended not to notice that the system had changed, that the wrong guards stood at the gates and that the Alpha's presence was no longer needed. Calla's POV We all stood frozen in our spots. Fenric had Lucien half-supported against him, one of his arms hooked firmly around Lucien's waist while Lucien's hand stayed clamped over his shoulder.
