I slept through the entire day, only waking when the sky outside had already dimmed toward evening. The moment I opened my eyes, a crushing ache flooded my body. The muscle in my arm burned, my wrists throbbed, and I couldn’t even raise my arms without feeling like my bones were tearing apart. My head pounded, my throat was dry, and I felt sick to my stomach.
