He pushed it open with his shoulder and carried me inside. The room was nothing like his public chambers where I cleaned every day. This space felt private and personal. The walls were darker and there were fewer decorations. Everything smelled like him and it made my head spin. Kael set me down carefully on a chair near the fireplace. His hands were still covered in blood but he was being so gentle with me that it made my chest hurt. "Are you injured?" He started checking my arms and then my shoulders.
