Chapter 25Abby Hale ~•~I still couldn’t believe that they both walked away from me. My chest felt tight, like someone had reached in and twisted something vital. Did I push them too far? What if what I was asking from both of them wasn’t bold but just stupid? I dragged a hand through my face and exhaled shakily. I genuinely didn’t expect any of them to leave. While I was still lost in my thoughts, the waiter dropped the food we had ordered on the table. As I lowered my eyes to look at it, I was filled with disgust. And if that wasn’t enough, she decided to meddle in my business. “Where did your guests go?” she asked, her voice too casual compared to the storm that was brewing inside of me. I blinked at her. “And how’s that your business?” I snapped, my voice rising in anger. “Just get me the bill and stop asking questions that don’t concern you.” She flinched, clearly taken aback by my response. “I’m sorry… I shouldn’t have asked,” she apologized, her voice barely audible.
