Need to survive

NOREEN The world stopped for a second.I scoffed, "Not only are you crazy, now you are delusional. A scar? Like I would even be within ten feet of you on a normal day."He turned on the vibrator, the sound although soft, drowned out the sound of my heart roaring in my ears and my pulse thrumming fast. "What scar?" I asked quickly, trying to distract him.He didn't answer. Instead, he reached down between my helpless wide open legs and placed the vibrator on my clitoris. My body's reaction was instant. I'd worked hard to turn off my senses since I'd been on the run and mostly hid in brothels. Showing no reaction was the key, and yet, Elion was making years of practice mean nothing. Absolutely nothing. I stifled a groan as every part of me came alive. The low hum of the vibrator did everything to aggravate the sensation rippling through. It was almost as if the sound was a stimulant on its own.My nipples perked up and were hard from arousal, goosebumps was all over my skin, act

Cleaning the shed

NOREEN When I woke up, I was back in my room, tucked under a blanket. I sat up, still feeling drowsy. It was morning, and Amber was glaring at me from across the room. "If you don't want to be here, then leave. I can't be subjected to seeing your angry face every time I wake up.""You just couldn't keep it down, could you? You just had to rub salt on her wound."I narrowed my eyes at her, "whose wound?""Miss Kathleen. Do you think she's just going to let it go slide after you humiliated her?""She set me up!" I snapped, "I should be angry, not the other way round. ""Just be careful." Amber warned.I scoffed, "I'm not afraid of her." "You should be."I raised an eyebrow at Amber, "She framed me for the death of her guards and stealing. I'm not going to let it slide to.""You should." Amber said strength. I frowned at her, "Since when do you care?"She clicked her tongue, "I don't. I'm just trying to keep my head down and be by myself.""Why are you all so afraid of her anyway? B

Fluctuations

NOREEN I blacked out and jolted back awake due to the pain.Every part of me ached.I couldn't breathe at all, not with my broken windpipe. My entire life flashed before me.I let anger take the best of me, and now, I won't be able to fulfill the promise I made to my family. My family's death would be for nothing. It was getting hard to open my eyes now.The door burst open, and the python was wrench free away from me.Its head lying a few feet away from me.I collapsed on the floor, clawing at my neck and chest. I gobbled in as much air as I could despite my broken windpipe and gradually opened my eyes.Elion was standing at the entrance, holding the rest of the python's body. Kathleen was beside him, her hands clamped over her mouth in horror as she stared at the dead body of her favorite reptile."You'll killed him just to save the slave? You killed him!!" She yelled, a couple of tears streaming down her face."How dare you!" She screamed. "If you really cherished your pet, y

Beg for a ride

NOREEN Elion dropped me in the pack's clinic and disappeared. I haven't seen him since then and that was three days ago.I rolled in the bed, feeling uncomfortable. I hated being restricted to a spot."Can I go now?" I asked the pack's doctor as she came around during her ward rounds. She performed some basic checkups and nodded, "You can. Just be careful and try not to end up back here."I nodded in agreement and left the hospital, going straight to my room.A quarter of my hair is back to silver, and real skin color was gradually coming out.I need to find a way to leave this pack and search for an alchemist. I don't even know where I would get one.Barely five minutes after I entered my room, Amber walked in, her usual expression on her face. I raised an eyebrow at her, "Why are you here? To gloat?""You're needed for cleaning in the kitchen. Remember, you have to earn your keep."I rolled my eyes and followed her to the kitchen, where I was put in charge of washing plates in th

Valerie

NOREEN An opportunity presented itself in the form of dinner later in the evening. Elion had sent for me to come for dinner in the dining roomIf my guess is right, Elion was leaving for the event tomorrow. I reached the dining room and stood behind Elion's chair, "You sent for me."Kathleen's eyes flashed, "What is the slave doing here?""Have a seat and help yourself." Elion said, nodding to the variety of food on the table.Kathleen dropped her spoon with a clutter, "Bringing a slave here wasn't enough, now you'll have her eat at the same table with us?""She's my breeder. I can treat her however I deem. Do you have a problem with that?""Not really, but can you tone it down? I can't have the servants staring and pointing fingers whenever I walk past.""If you have an issue with it, perhaps it is time for you to return to your father's house.""No!" Kathleen's response was sharp and fast, "I'm not going back there. My place is with you, beside you."My stomach churned with anger

First victim

NOREEN Valerie?"Valerie," he called again, in a broken whisper. My heart hammered in my chest wildly. There was no way he'd know about me, no freaking way.I changed everything! I am not even myself, so there's no way he thinks he's found me if he's just like the hunters.I just have to keep my appearance up, be the brother's ex he knows of, not the weak Omega everyone is trying to get their hands on and even hunting down.I just have to keep being Noreen, not Valerie. My disguise is perfect. I'd been wearing it for so long that it actually feels like my skin, my identity, even though it was all fake and a lie.His face scrunched up in anger, and as if on cue, the mark on my lower back burned."Find her!" He snarled, his voice laced with anger and something else I couldn't place, hatred? Disgust? Disdain?I turned around slowly, "What did you just say?""Mascota." He murmured and suddenly sat up, wide awake."What did you do to me?" He asked, staring at me.What??? The sedative worke

A mess

NOREEN I glared at him, my heart threatening to escape from my ribcage. This was Elion's precious betrothed. If he found out anything happened to her or that I had something to do with it— no, I can't think about that now. "Help me!" I snapped at the alchemist, angry at my uselessly fragile bones. "Help you do what?" He snapped back, raised an eyebrow, "What do you plan on doing, young woman?""Roll her on her chest. I need to stop the bleeding,""She's dead!" He snarled, "Get on with it, then look for a good cover story and sell it to whoever you need to.""What?" I gasped, shock filling my bones."I'm sure you'll come up with something good, I can't be involved in this. I'll see you soon."He did a tiny wave, walking backward, away from me."Did you listen to yourself? A cover story for His Majesty? Elion? Of course, I just have to tell him...""Nothing," the alchemist piped in coldly, "We were never here." And disappeared. I was alone. As much as leaving her body was the best

Hell

NOREEN She walked too fast for someone who just went through an ordeal, or maybe I was just too slow to catch up with her.She had already spoken to Elion by the time I got to Elion's quarters. "There she is!" Kathleen crossed her arms haughtily while fixing me a glare."Leave us, Kat," Elion said, training his eyes on me.Oh, cute! He has a pet name for her. How cute is that?"What?" Kat snapped, her eyes almost bulging out. "I told you she lured me out and nearly killed me, yet you want me to leave? I should be here when you punish her!""I di-" I paused, taking deep breaths. I was worn out, and yet her ungrateful ass wouldn't acknowledge that.I paused as something else clicked, "You said I lured you out?""Obviously," she rolled her eyes, "Why else would I be in a bush with you? Playing doll?"She doesn't remember!"I don't feel safe with her here," Kathleen added, pointing a finger at me."Go back to the pack tomorrow morning, Kathleen," Elion's face tone was cold as he regarde
