Lauren POV “Send me your location, I’m coming to pick you up.” I contemplate for awhile before sending it. As I waited for him to pick me up, I responded to some emails, jumped on a call with my assistant and created a calendar for the following weeks. Just as I was about finishing up, my phone chimed from Dre’s text. “Come out.” I roll my eyes at the message. He didn’t have to be so authoritative. The message from the hospital where I went to get tested opens. The results were boldly written. Before I could turn the phone screen off, Andre had already seen it. I felt his hands slide off my body and before he even said anything, I felt my stomach turn. “You went for a test? He asked calmly. Too calm. “What was the test for?” He questioned in a neutral tone. Is he trying to apologize? “What has gotten into him?” I wondered. Last night he seemed upset and this morning he’s being sweet. Preparing breakfast and getting me flowers? He is so confusing, has always been and will most likely be. So confusing! I decided to not think too much about today’s gesture and just go on about my day. I took my time to cut the stem of the flowers and arrange them in the vase and take them up to my room. “They smell so good.” I thought with a wide smile on my face. That’s what flowers do to me. Lauren POV As the last course was served, a comfortable silence settled over us. We had talked for hours, sharing stories and laughter, and the initial awkwardness had completely vanished. As the night deepened, we both realized that we didn't want the evening to end. He suggested we retire to the hotel, which, to my surprise, turned out to be owned by his family. Such a wealthy family. The morning began with a gentle awakening, the sun's rays filtering through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. I stretched, a smile already forming on my face as I remembered the previous night. He was already awake, propped up on one elbow, watching me. "Morning," he said, his voice husky with sleep.
