Sabrina’s POV.The scream that tore from my throat didn't sound human. It sounded like an animal caught in a trap—raw, guttural, and endless."No!" I scrambled toward the crib, my hands clawing at the empty mattress. I ripped the sheet off. I checked under the crib. I checked the closet. "Asher! Asher!""Sabrina!" Cole burst into the room behind me, his chest heaving."He’s gone!" I shrieked, spinning around to face him, grabbing his shirt with shaking hands. "He’s gone, Cole! The crib is empty!"Cole pushed past me, his face draining of all color. He looked into the empty crib. He touched the cold mattress where our son should have been sleeping."Oh God," he choked out, staggering back.
