I was tired. It was late into the night, and I was struggling to keep my eyes open. My eyelids were so heavy. I leaned my head back against the wall and closed my eyes for a second. “Miss,” a nurse nudged me awake. I had somehow laid down across several chairs and was in an awkward position with my baby bump. I fluttered my eyes open, confused over my position. “Are you alright?” She asked. “Sorry, I must have drifted off. The next few hours passed by with me huddled in the family room. I took a walk down to the food court area and grabbed a sandwich and a hot drink. I needed something to give me some energy. It didn’t matter what they said, or what threats they spouted at me, I was not leaving unless Damian told me to. I knew they would be bringing him around soon, if they hadn’t already. It was only a matter of time until he asked for me and the nurses would fetch me. As soon as I was finished, I headed back to the family room and tried to ask the nurses on shift if they could inform me when Damian was awake. They agreed but something told me that I wouldn’t be hearing from them. I could see the look of fear in their eyes. Cleo messaged me to say that she was on her way back to the hospital. I could hear voices around me as the room around me was coming to life. I could hear my father and Prue arguing. They were blaming Erin for the accident. I kept my eyes closed for a while listening to what they were saying. There was no sound of Erin in the room. The tone on their voices told me that she was not there. I had to wonder if she was in the hospital, I knew she had to be as I had updated her as my emergency contact. So, I knew that she would have been contacted but if my family was here, there was a chance that they had chased her away. I opened my eyes as I heard footsteps. I paced back and forth for what felt like hours. I knew that the nurse would update me as soon as Erin was back. Her mum had arrived and I had told her about the baby. She had gone for fresh air outside. She hadn’t asked too many questions about how it had happened yet. I assumed that she had assumed that Erin had fallen. I decided that it was time to find out if Prue had told Damian and if she hadn’t, she was going to force her to tell him.
