A Billion Desires 1 のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 11 - チャプター 20

JulianMy stomach churns at the thought.Camille went to Harvard like her mother and father before her. She has a degree in social innovation and philanthropy and uses it to its highest purpose. She's making quite a name for herself and is very selective about what projects she will undertake. Since people always want what they can't have, her limited time gets snapped up quickly.I knock on her door and a moment later hear the click of her heels on the hardwoods."Oh, it really is a special occasion! You brought the Ferrari out for me!""Only the best for you."Camille loves this thing for some reason. I chose it tonight for that reason, but a perverse part of me is disappointed that she hasn't yet remarked that it's the Corvette I only take out for very special occasions. I love that car more than anything I own. I only take the Ferrari out when I'm trying to impress a client…or my girlfriend.Dinner is fine, although I'm finding our conversation slightly more awkward than usual. As

She shrugs. “I think Julian is in to you. He can call it whatever he wants.”"No way in hell." I hate myself a little for questioning it, but can't stop the question from dropping off my lips. "What makes you think that?" "The guy dropped God knows how much money up-grading our store without being prompted, after being here three times and not even knowing if you'd fixed his car.". He tried to act as if he cared about his cars and me, but it was you he could not stop staring at as he answered Dad's questions.Anyway, you should have seen his eyes light up when Dad and I told you to go for a drive with him."You're thinking too much about this. He's just a nice guy."."Right. Since all nice guys, who are essentially strangers, take their mechanics out for a day at the lake.""He's not a stranger," I argue. "Not really. I mean we've texted every other day for the past month for like updates on his car and other jobs and things."When she fake smiles and narrows her eyes, I realize I've

Too much is at stake and no matter my own personal feelings, I could not do that to Camille."Are the other guys gonna care?" he asks, hurting me."Absolutely not. Seriously, it's cool.""I mean it's not like I'm going to go around hitting on them." I turn to find River well and finally relax when he smiles and keeps talking. "Well, maybe the nerdy firefighter because that sounds kind of hot."A snort and bark of laughter are wrung out of my lips. "Oh God. Not Ezra. Either of the other two are fine, but not him."Laughing with me, River turns on his turn signal to leave. "Why not? What's wrong with him?""He'd never let the rest of us live it down, that's what. He gets all the girls already because he's so obnoxious that he's impossible to ignore. But his blond hair and green eyes don't hurt either. Fucker looks like he just came out of an Abercrombie ad.""Hmm," River hums beside me."Hmmm mean what? Oh, take the next light and turn right. We'll go that way until it hits a T and then

"How was I s'posed to know you were gonna play flying squirrel right when I turned?" Beckett yells back over the music which has changed to country and now thunders Ain't No Love in Oklahoma.Julian rolls his eyes and leans against me, his face just inches from mine. His eyes fall to mine so fast if I'd blinked, I'd've been out of my mind. but I didn't blink."I, uh, learned to board after I met these guys a few years back. Growing up, I was supposed to learn rich kid things: tennis, golf, chess, sailing, polo, fencing… you know the drill, but I'm sort of an adrenaline addict so every chance I get, I try to learn something new. I like to do things other guys can't.""Polo? Fencing?" I say, clinging to literally anything in hopes of concealing that I'm actually hot.He nudge my shoulder. "It wasn't my suggestion, but I'll tell you, I'm a state champion fencer. I figured if I was going to have to do it, I should at least do it well."Wow. Are sword jokes too on the nose?" I say in a jus

I shut up after that and keep an eye on my drink as the guys continue to chat about work, weather, and life in general. We continue to drink and play some volleyball using a floating net and ball which Beckett keeps on the boat.Me, River, and Micah are buzzing well. Beckett is getting along towards being completely sober again, and Ezra is hammered. I just can't drink that way anymore, at least not without making it to the emergency room.River lets me off the hook and never mentions his brilliant observation again and I've been trying my best to steer clear of his eyes. Finally, we all board the boat again and Ezra groans when the song that is playing over the speakers reaches our ears."Not Bieber!" he cries, reaching out to change the station. But River stops him.Turn this up," he says to me, his grin not doing a thing to lower the amount of blood that's been flowing to my dick all afternoon."You a Belieber?" I tease lightly, not looking away for an instant."Some of it, yeah, b
