Lotte was swept back up into David’s car, though this time it wasn’t as much fun a drive as it had been with Levi and Brandon. Glaring out the window of the back seat, after being crammed in with two others, Judy (the woman with the large glasses that took up most of her face), and Sharon (the smaller redhead who apparently loved sweets so much that she thought Lotte was ‘destined’ to be her friend), Charlotte was almost relieved when the car finally came to a stop… … Almost. Despite the way Brandon had acted while his father was home, the moment Levi set their dinner on the table, everyone relaxed. Lotte was very impressed by the spread. The teen had made the most absolutely delicious roast, potatoes, sauteed mushrooms, and baked apple. Cleaning her plate, Charlotte smiled at the older Lupman, “That was amazing!” Levi beamed, “Thank you! The next morning, Lotte woke and everything was quiet. She slipped out of bed and made her way to the kitchen where Levi was flipping a couple of pancakes. “Morning,” the boy called out, scooting a few on a plate and passing them to her. “Did you sleep okay?” Lotte nodded, even though it was a lie. She had barely gotten any sleep as she continued to make peace with the idea of finding her own place. Taking a seat at the table, the girl could hardly get a few bites in before she felt her eyes start to water once again. She needed to pull herself together, if anything, because she didn't want Levi worrying about her being upset. In such a short span of knowing him, the girl could feel what an empath he was. She liked that so much about him, and truly hoped that the boy would keep being her friend after she moved out. She had intended to hang out with Barbara, just as she had told David that she would, but the larger woman had gone to sit on the couch in the office and had fallen asleep.
