“Yeah, well, some jobs are all-hands-on-deck and those include mine. Sometimes I just need to be there as muscle – I can throw a punch if I have to – and sometimes I’m there as back-up. If things go south, I go in with my team and I have their backs, just like they have mine.”“And these?” She was tracing the scars again. “How’d these happen?”“Yeah, those were bad situations. They went to shit fast and hard and we went in shooting to get my people out.” He sighed and touched the one on his shoulder. “This one I got from a drug cartel on the Mexican border. Nasty little assholes and they had one of my girls tied up. They were going to pump her full of their drugs and then do God-only-knows-what, so we had to get her the hell out.”Naomi was startled. “Was she OK?”“Lilly? Hell, yes. We got her to her feet and right away she drop-kicked one of them in the throat. Said that he’d tried to kiss her and his breath stank.”Naomi laughed.“This one.” He patted the scar on his chest. “Sex tra

King paused to rest Naomi’s feet on his shoulders, then he returned to where he really wanted to be. He teased her, his tongue flicking her clit in fast little strokes, before making long, leisurely licks her whole length. She didn’t know what he’d do next, so she just dug her fingers into the mattress beneath her and held on for the ride. When he plunged his tongue inside her, she gave a shocked scream and sat straight up. Her eyes were wide and her chest rose and fell in panicked breaths. He stopped dead.“Naomi? You OK?”“I – I… oh, God.” She fell back on the bed, tried to twist away from him. “Oh, no. No.”“Naomi?” He was alarmed now, and he moved back up her body. “Talk to me.”“You’re too much. Matt, you’re so… so close.”“Close to what?” He stroked her cheek. “What’s going on in your head?”“You’re close to me. You’re – you’re part of me. In my body. You see me.” Her eyes were overflowing with tears and she looked away. “I – I don’t know how to explain it.”“Hey, now.” King wrap

King looked up just in time to see a look of fear and desperation cross Naomi’s face. Startled, he watched her shoot to her feet and dash out of the room. He followed, his heart in his throat. He walked down the hallway, listened. There was noise in the smaller bathroom, farther down the hall, and he tapped on the door.“Naomi?” he said. All he got for an answer was a sob, but that was more than enough. He threw the door open, thanking God that it wasn’t locked because he’d have kicked the damn thing down without a second of thought. What he saw froze the breath in his lungs.Naomi was over at the sink, water running full-blast. She was rubbing her tongue roughly, then cupping her hands under the spray to drink. Over and over she did this, tears streaming down her pale face, breathing hard and fast. He was next to her in two strides.“What happened?”“I – I drank some wine by accident.” She drank some more water. “Matt – I can still taste it.”“OK, OK. Breathe.” He took her shoulders g

Without another word, he dropped to his knees in front of Naomi. He placed his hands on her hips, gently shoved her back until she was against the wall. He kissed her stomach, the tops of her thighs, the delicate area just above her slick entrance. She sucked in a breath and he glanced up at her.“OK?”In response, her hands went to the back of his head, urging him to come closer. He complied, using his fingers to open her lips. He spread them carefully and when he saw her clit nestled in there, all pink and wet, he groaned. “I have to taste you,” he said, his voice guttural. “I want you to.” She pressed on his head again. “Please, Matt. Taste me.”Without another second of hesitation, King was on her. Naomi had no control over the deep moan that rolled out from her chest when his tongue found her taut bud. Like a starving man, he feasted on her; like a believer, he worshipped her. With long, steady strokes he teased her, first attacking her clit, then leaning back to suck every drop

King glanced up at the knock on his office doorjamb. When he saw Quinn and Jackson standing there, he nodded at them.“Shut the door,” he said. They came into the room; like King, they took up an absurd amount of space in it. “Well,” King said without any pleasantries at all. “What’d you find out about the fucker?”Quinn handed King a folder. “Fucker’s the word, alright.”“Yeah? Why is that?”“Patrick Doyle likes underage hookers,” Jack said. “Provided to him courtesy of our favorite scumbag, Kirk Jensen.”“Aw, hell, no.” King flipped the folder open now and stared in disgust at the photos. “Jesus Christ.”“And the best part?” Quinn said. “He puts them on his expense account.”“No way.”“Yes way.” Quinn shook his shaved head. “It’s all in there.”“Goddamn. I hate this guy.”“Yeah, I think I may just a little bit, too,” Jack said, his hard face like granite. “So, what do we do now, boss?”King looked at two of his King’s Men team and narrowed his eyes. “Shoot him in the face many, many
