“Help!” I heard a voice scream from one of the rooms. A fire broke out, and ashes from the smoke entered into our nostrils. It engulfed the training room, the heat was intense to make my eyes water. I weakly raised my head to look at the company of men who I suspected were my captors. “What is your name?” He questioned as he squatted to my level on the ground. I tried releasing my claws, hoping to use them in scratching his face but it was of no use. I heard distinct voices from outside my bedroom door. A few knocks followed, and before I could reply, my mother entered the room. Two maids accompanied her, each of them holding dresses and jewelry in their hand. Today was my 21st birthday and marriage ceremony. It seemed like the night passed by in a second. I couldn't remember getting any sleep as I had spent the entire night crying.“I would like Jada to dress me,” I told my mother as she ordered the maids to drop the clothes on the bed.My voice was croaked and shaky as I spoke. I woke up to the faint rays of morning light, slipping through the cracked shutters. I supported my forehead with my palm, a burning sensation transitioned through my body. My head throbbed, and my entire body down to my legs ached heavily. I tasted the alcohol from last night and regret sank into my chest before I could even open my eyes completely. I shut my eyes, trying to get more sleep, hoping that it would wipe the aftermath of indulging too much last night.Diana and Lacy. I must have lost them. I sighed to myself, wondering if they had left me alone in the bar. I recalled excusing myself to use the toilet, and after that, I couldn't remember what happened. But this bed didn't feel like the one in my room. Maybe my friends had taken me to their house.I sprawled my hand across the bed and encountered an obstruction which caused my heart to race.
