The hammering and lashing sound of the rain against the walls and roof masked the sounds of muffled, heavy moans inside the mansion. The two men fighting for one woman only escalated the moment Clyde walked in for this project proposal meeting with the higher ups. There, in the middle of the room, sat Cronous who had his arms crossed staring daggers towards Clyde. Cronous had a playful smirk on his lips while Clyde was seething with anger, gritting his teeth yet holding back. “Mr. Akurst? Please proceed with your proposal,” the panel interrupted their staring contest. Clyde sighed heavily and composed himself, going with his project proposal with professionalism. Everyone’s eyes were on him while he couldn’t help but only focus on Cronous who was staring at him grimly. An hour passed and he finally concluded what he had to say. “I think this will greatly benefit all parties,” he finally concluded. Before anyone else commented, a slow clap was heard from the middle of the room. All eyes turned to Cronous, who was slowly clapping and nodded his head. “What an excellent proposal,” he said in a low but playful tone.

CYLDE splashed his face with cold water while looking at his ruined face marked with bruises and cuts from his struggle with Cronous. His back bruised up from hitting the chairs and floor, but his ego was hit even harder. “Who does he think he is?” He went back to his living room and sat down on the sofa, while piles of broken items scattered across the floor. He grabbed what could comfort him, alcohol. This is really serious,” she uttered in annoyance, the anxiety of what happened still within her. The scent of roses filled the air as the breeze brushed against Zaria’s skin. She looked around in the garden, butterflies flying around and landing on the thorn-filled bed of roses.
