Maddy's POV A whirlwind of emotions gripped me as I watched him walk away from me. My heart was pounding so fast, it was difficult to even move a step. Maddy Max pulled to a stop next to my dad’s car. It had taken us a good hour or so to get back home. He rushed for the bag, yanked it away from his mother. “She’s trying to steal from you!” his mother yelled, pointing her fingers at me.
