Chapter 1

Shortly after I hung up, Winston's phone rang.He answered it impatiently, but a second later, his expression froze. Beads of sweat appeared on his forehead and panic filled his eyes.Stacy Landale gestured him into the mansion for dinner, but Winston was in no mood to eat. He passed the child back to Stacy and tried to leave in a hurry.Stacy, confused, grabbed his arm, trying to stop him from leaving. "You finally came home after so long, and you're leaving already? Didn't you promise to spend time with me and our daughter?"Winston could not be persuaded. Ignoring the confusion and frustration in Stacy's eyes, he shook off her hand, got into the car, and sped all the way to the airport.Once he realized I had not boarded the plane back to the pack, he tried to connect with me through our mind-link, but after several attempts, he could not sense anything.Left with no choice, he frantically called me with his phone, but no matter how many times he called, he was always greeted

Chapter 2

Xavier finished investigating the human girl in less than half an hour. Her name was Stacy Landale, and she was a recent graduate, currently working as an intern. He even found out that the two of them had a child.Xavier came to me with this information."According to our investigation, Winston did have an affair with her, but there's no evidence to suggest he betrayed the werewolves. Jenny Holmes, I'll ask you one more time: did you really discover Winston Holmes leaking the werewolves' secrets? Or are you simply trying to get revenge on your mate for his infidelity?"His eyes bore intensely into mine, almost devouring me.But I had seen too much in my life to be flustered by his sharp gaze. My expression remained calm and my tone remained composed when I answered him."I've already discovered his infidelity for quite some time. I wouldn't compromise the fate of the werewolves to fulfill my personal desires. I noticed something was wrong when I was investigating his affair."

Chapter 3

Because the matter concerned the safety of the werewolf world, Winston and I were secretly sent back to the pack. However, there were always guards from the Werewolf Management Bureau monitoring his every move.As for Stacy, because she was human, there were some procedures that were yet to be completed, so they gave her a temporary place to live in which was heavily-guarded 24 hours a day.On the plane back to the pack, Winston kept trying to find a chance to talk to me, but he was repelled by my cold gaze. His anxious and aggrieved look gave me a bit of pleasure. When he betrayed me for another woman, I was sure he never thought this day would come. After we got back to the pack, Winston was locked in the dungeon.I was placed in a hotel protected by multiple guards for my safety as I was a key individual. Not long after that, Xavier brought Vince Casey, the current director of the Werewolf Management Bureau, to see me.Vince first shook hands with me politely, then asked,

Chapter 4

The clues I provided allowed Vince's investigation to proceed smoothly.Winston was imprisoned, and aside from the investigators working on his case, no one could inquire about him.Soon, my enraged mother-in-law began to frantically call and message me."Jenny, where is my son? Why can't I reach him?""I heard you reported my son. How could you be so cruel? What wrong did he do to you? Why do you want him dead?""Listen here, if anything happens to my son, I'll make you pay!"Threatening messages were sent one after another, but I only sneered. My mother-in-law, Ruby Holmes, had always believed that I was unworthy of his son because he was an Alpha. Since we held the bonding ceremony, she never once treated me kindly.I worked diligently to manage the pack for Winston and respected her as much as I respected my own mother, but all I got in return was her scorn and ridicule. When I had a miscarriage and was hospitalized, her first words to me after she rushed to the hospital w

Chapter 5

My breath caught, and my heart skipped a beat."Really? Winston betrayed the werewolves?"I only wanted to smear Winston; I did not expect him to actually betray the werewolves.I thought that, although Winston was a disloyal scumbag, he would not harm the werewolves' interests. It appeared I had overestimated him.Not only was he a scumbag, he was also a complete disgrace!Xavier found the investigation result hard to believe, but the facts were clear, so he could only handle it impartially. He nodded and told me everything he uncovered."Stacy's adoptive father is Zoran Yates, the deputy director of the human's intelligence agency. Winston's encounter with Stacy was facilitated by him in secret. His purpose was to obtain the werewolves' confidential information in order to wipe us out in one fell swoop."I gasped. I could not imagine how much of a disaster it would be if I had not reported Winston in time. He would have leaked even more information.Xavier continued gravely

Chapter 6

Once the news broke, the incident immediately caused an uproar in the werewolf world. Everyone denounced Winston as a "spy" and a "traitor", calling for his eternal exile! The investigation was still ongoing. Fortunately, the secrets in Winston's hands were not complete. Humans could not obtain any useful information from this half of the intelligence, so the planned annihilation of the werewolves could only be abandoned.I knew Stacy did not possess the capability to obtain more useful intelligence. She was simply a naive and vain woman.A real spy would not be so stupid as to tell me everything.Unable to endure the werewolves' interrogation, Stacy quickly confessed everything about her and Winston.Zoran was indeed her adoptive father. He told her he had a way to make her Winston's Luna, and she naively believed him. Therefore, she coaxed Winston into taking her to the werewolves' research institute, then handed over all the stolen information to Zoran.During the interrogat

Chapter 7

My words shattered Winston's last glimmer of hope.In the end, he was sentenced to be exiled to the wilderness for treason. He finally managed to sit on the Alpha throne, only to have it all destroyed because of his own betrayal. This outcome was more painful than death to him.As the guards escorted him away, he passed by me. He told me, "Jenny, you've won."His voice was soft but laced with palpable anger and resentment.Did I really win?I ruined everything for him, turning him from an Alpha into a stray wolf. This result would be satisfactory to many.Yet I felt no joy.I lost my mate and my pup. Did I really win?The price of this victory was too great.I still remember when Winston and I first started going out. We were so compatible. We vowed to protect our pack together and make it prosperous.Back then, we were so full of ambition, but now, I had pushed him into the abyss with my own hands.I once thought Winston would be my mate for life.I did not expect that w

Chapter 8

Winston heard the footsteps and slowly turned to look at me.At that moment of eye contact, his numb face displayed some emotion."I thought you wouldn't come."I did not answer, but sat down on his hospital bed. After giving me a meaningful look, Xavier left the room.Neither of us spoke. The air felt as cold as an iceberg that would never melt.I did not know how long it took, but I finally spoke: "I heard you wanted to see me."Winston nodded, then said weakly; "Jenny, are you still angry?"My head shot up. I quickly realized what he meant.I fell silent again; the room was filled with only the sound of our breathing.I did not know what to say. When I discovered his infidelity, I wanted to tear him to pieces, but now that my goal had been achieved, I found no relief, only endless sorrow.I felt sad to see an Alpha fall from grace, sad for the fickleness of a mortal's heart, and even more sad for our love that ended in sorrow.Seeing that I didn't speak, Winston seemed
