Chapter 3

Because the matter concerned the safety of the werewolf world, Winston and I were secretly sent back to the pack.

However, there were always guards from the Werewolf Management Bureau monitoring his every move.

As for Stacy, because she was human, there were some procedures that were yet to be completed, so they gave her a temporary place to live in which was heavily-guarded 24 hours a day.

On the plane back to the pack, Winston kept trying to find a chance to talk to me, but he was repelled by my cold gaze.

His anxious and aggrieved look gave me a bit of pleasure.

When he betrayed me for another woman, I was sure he never thought this day would come.

After we got back to the pack, Winston was locked in the dungeon.

I was placed in a hotel protected by multiple guards for my safety as I was a key individual.

Not long after that, Xavier brought Vince Casey, the current director of the Werewolf Management Bureau, to see me.

Vince first shook hands with me politely, then asked, "You're the granddaughter of the old director?"

I nodded.

A respectful look appeared on Vince's face. "Since you're the old director's granddaughter, I do believe your claim is credible, but..."

He dragged out the sound.

"After preliminary interrogation, Winston only admitted to having an affair. He claimed he did not betray the werewolves or leak any secrets. He said you reported him entirely for personal reasons. He also said Stacy only asked him about his work out of curiosity."

Curiosity?

I shook my head with a chuckle, then took out my phone and opened the photo album.

"Winston took her to visit the werewolves' confidential department without reporting it. Stacy also repeatedly said that she was unhappy with her current job and wanted to go work at Winston's pack, so Winston used his Alpha privileges to forge a fake resume for Stacy.

"He also bought forbidden medicine from the witch to mask her human scent to sneak her into the pack. As you know, we're prohibited from employing non-werewolves, not to mention Stacy is a member of the human's intelligence agency. This gives me reason to suspect her intention in approaching Winston."

At this, anger flickered in Vince's eyes. He slammed the table and shouted, "He thinks he can abuse his power just because he's an Alpha? How dare he try to bring a human girl into the wolf pack! This is madness!"

However, he quickly calmed down and said to me solemnly, "Thank you very much for cooperating with our investigation. We will investigate everything you mentioned."

I nodded, and said a little regretfully: "Winston is actually a very good Alpha; he manages the pack very well. But his actions show me that no one is perfect. I hope he hasn't actually betrayed the werewolves so that he can continue to serve the Alpha King."

Although I said so, I knew in my heart it was over for him.

He betrayed his mate by consorting with a human and even abused his Alpha power to buy forbidden medicine to bring a human into his wolf pack.

Those alone were enough for him to lose his position as an Alpha and possibly face punishment from the Alpha King.

Since he betrayed me and killed my wolf pup, I would also destroy the thing he cherished most.

Vince felt that it was a pity to see a genius like Winston go down the wrong path, but the fate of the werewolves was at stake, so the matter must be resolved properly.

Just as Vince was about to leave, I suddenly said that I remembered something, and quickly added, "I remember Stacy mentioned that her adoptive father is a senior official in the human government, but I’m not sure what exactly his position is. I hope this information is useful to you."

Vince clenched his fists, understanding the seriousness of the matter.

He bowed to me and said, "Thank you very much for the information. If Winston Holmes really has betrayed the werewolves, he will definitely be punished, even if he is an Alpha."

I nodded. No matter how capable Winston was, surely he was doomed this time.
