AZRIEL’S POV Leaving Paige behind was one of the most difficult things I’d ever had to do, but I didn’t have a choice. We marched to Moon Sky Pack in our wolf forms while those handing the weapons brought them by car.As we drew closer to the pack, we were quick to sight four rogues headed our way. One of my warriors handled them while we continued marching to the pack. From how thick the tension in the air was, it seemed they were about to attack. We quickened our pace to prevent the rogues from starting to kill innocent people. I wanted to see if I’d be able to talk them out of attacking, anything to prevent bloodshed. When we got closer, I saw the rogues lined up in front of the border, armed with their weapons and some already in their wolf form, snarling and growling. Those wolves were consumed by mindless range judging by their appearance.I scanned the area, searching to see if their leader was in sight fighting alongside them, but I couldn't find him. Someone had to be leadin

PAIGE’S POV I woke up to the clinking sound of the chains bound to my wrists. My nose and eyes stung, leaving me unable to smell anything. My vision was a blurred mess, but I could make out two figures standing in front of me. The room was humid and felt sticky against my skin. I glanced down at myself and realised I was wearing a bigger shirt. This sent a shiver down my spine. Whoever captured me must have worn the shirt over my tiny pyjamas. “Well, at least I wouldn't be cold,” I thought to myself. The pebbles on the floor poked against my feet, but I was relieved my legs were not chained to the wall as well. By the look of things, I was certain I was not anywhere near Black Crow Pack. My captor must have deliberately taken me somewhere far so Azriel wouldn't be able to reach me.But I trusted Azriel; I knew he would find me.My back still hurt, and what had started as a sting had morphed into a throbbing that made me nauseous. The wolfsbane I had been injected had subdued my wolf

AZRIEL’S POV Dead ends after another. That was all we had encountered. The investigation we conducted on her father, who was my prime suspect, bore no fruit.“This is the third tracker we have sent out this week who has returned empty-handed,” Trevor whispered solemnly as he sat opposite me.Frustrated, I let out a tired sigh. It had been a week and two days since Paige disappeared, but it felt like years to me. With each passing day, I grew reckless and unstable, a little more uncontrolled and irrational, a little more violent.Sometimes I gave my wolf control, allowing him to take the lead and guide me to our mate, probably by picking up a scent, a mind-link, a heartbeat even… anything at all.My sole focus had been on finding my mate and not the affairs of the kingdom anymore. Going on a day without her presence had been difficult. I could count the number of days I had been able to sleep without her pillow or clothes beside me—that had been the only way I could prevent myself fro

AZRIEL’S POV News reaching me was that Victor Creek, Beta of Sky Moon Pack, was also missing, confirming our suspicion of him being Paige's captor. His accomplice was yet to be found which was quite frustrating. It had been two days since the trackers headed out, combing every nook and cranny for any sign of Victor, but still, there was no result. During our thorough investigation of the Sky Moon Pack, the pack members were questioned and all claimed they had no idea where Victor was and had been searching for him. The former Beta, who was also Victor’s father, stated that he had a feeling that his son had been kidnapped. He mentioned the last time he saw him and the day matched with the day Paige also disappeared. Despite that, I couldn't help but feel like they knew more than they shared, so I planted a mole, acting like a pack member, to gather vital information and report back if he saw or heard anything suspicious. The door suddenly swung open, breaking me out of my thoughts, r

PAIGE’S POV When I stirred awake, I felt achy.My whole body felt sore, like I’d been dragged through a war. I was aware that I was somewhere different from where I had been, but it was difficult to open my eyes because of how bright the room was and the fear that wrapped itself around me like a blanket. What if it was all a dream? Then I felt it; the sparks and I jerked away unconsciously hoping that Victor wouldn’t take anything away from me this morning.“Hey, Love.” I heard a whisper. The voice sounded so familiar, and then reality dawned on me.My eyes fluttered open and I met the gaze of the prettiest blue eyes. “Azriel.” I breathed out in a hoarse voice. All my emotions resurfaced as I remembered the past days, weeks or whatever the time was. I couldn’t help but remember the pain and torture I went through at the hands of Chloe and Victor. Tears began to flow down my face as I cuddled in my mate's chest. Azriel hushed me and petted my hair, holding me tightly.“Azriel.” I crie
