At night, Sasha cozied up in bed to read her favorite magazine. She picked up the thick book and began to swipe through the pages when her eyes caught a small headline on the side of a page. She gasped and dashed out of her bedroom to Darnell’s room. He had Drew to thank for his social life. In high school, his family still lived on the second floor of Grandfather’s manor. Darnell honked his car in front of a huge bamboo gate. A woman peeked through a square peephole before pulling the gate open. The view of the compound opened up to a large vineyard with grapevines lined up in fine rolls.
