Clara's Pov "Is that my favorite, beef wellingtong you're making mom?" Leo's voice cut through the walls to the dining table where I stood, plating the delicacy. I glanced up with a smile. " Yes, it is. I hope you're starving." He hopped from one foot to the other until he got to the table, his hair swaying with the wind. "You are the best mom. I'm going to have a great day at school today after I eat this." He declared. Sitting himself down and licking his lips as he took in the beautiful sight of the dish. "You're not going to wait for..." I barely finished speaking when he cut me off. "Father's taking so much time coming down stairs and I'm starving. I'm sure he would forgive me." I giggled at his words. It was so sweet to watch him drool over the food I made. I didn't get that much of a reaction when I made special meals for my previous family. Romeo was the only person who appreciated my cooking and showed it. The rest acted numb to its sweetness and if I made any mistake

Adrian's pov "We're here." The old man announced as he got down from the car. I came down from the opposite door. I pocketed my hands as I took in the mansion that didn't look too familiar. Something was different. "You repainted the walls?" I asked Romeo who made his way inside the mansion and he replied me without looking back. "And changed the tiles." I followed him in and was stunned to find out he changed the interiors as well. From milk to grey colour. The ulphostery as well. Even the dining table got changed to a glass table with carved chairs around it. The staircase was changed from a wooden one to a glass one and the floor changed as well. For a minute, I thought I was in the wrong house. Maybe I'd missed my way. Roxy and Lu were sitted at the dining table. Two large dishwares sat amongst other plates and spoons but they remained untouched. As though they were waiting for us to get there first. Romeo got to the dining first and he settled himself into his seat at th

Adrian's pov I was seated in my office when Clementine strutted into my office with her ipad. "We've gotten a reply from Dr Anonymous." She spoke so casually, I wanted to tell her not to take it too casually. I sat up immediately, "what did it say?" Her hands moved as she scrolled through the message. I'd tried to convince the old man that it didn't matter what he wanted to do with the doctor. But I knew within myself that the old man needed to do whatever he wanted to do with Rome's Pharmaceuticals so he would be able to cope. He was hospitalized when she died so he was definitely blaming himself for not being there for her when she needed him the most. Improving the pharmacy and saving a lot of patients would be a coping mechanism. Clara always had empathy and she did all she could to improve the company while she was there. She was about to invent a drug that would help to slow down aging. I'd found out about that as well after her demise. So I reached out to Dr. C after I

Clara's Pov The meeting with the brand went better than I imagined it would. They were pleased to meet me and even more surprised at how young I was with such tremendous success. I got to hear from them how they founded a brand that had always amazed me and made me wonder. By the time I walked out of the meeting, I'd already received multiple invites to the board members' personal businesses to pay visits to them and also invest. But they were just extras. They were not my focus. The brand itself was my focus and I wasn't going to rest until I've been able to push myself deep into the heart of the brand. "So, how was it? The meeting." Julian asked as we sat lazily on the sofa after dinner. Leo had been put to bed already so the rest of the evening was free for us. I have a slight shrug. "It was good as expected but better." The pleased smile on my face said all the words. "Ouu, you look really pleased. Did you by any chance speak on behalf of your beloved partner?" He was spe

ClaraThe woman who was being interrogated by the security personnels was making a fuss inside the boutique. Threatening everyone and telling them she'd report them for public harassment. The store didn't have what I wanted so I ordered a customized dress instead. The sales lady was surprised and filled with gratitude. The truth was, they always had incidents like that occur in the boutique as many wannabes always came in claiming they had a lot of money meanwhile, it's all just lies. And at the end of the day, they leave with valuables. After instructing them to send the dress to my house when they are done with it, I left the store. I had to go pick Leo up from school. He was waiting by the playground when I got to his school and he looked a bit sad. "Hello love, why the long face?" I asked and he gave a slight shrug, his knees pressed together and his face was pale. "Don't you want to tell mommy? We can find a solution together." I tried to get him to talk to me. It was har
