AdrianClara was brilliant as usual, bringing ideas and solutions before the problem would even pose a threat to the company. As she spoke about tackling issues, it was nice to sit back and watch her in her element. Solving problems like she did when we were still married. Like she solved behind my back. I must have lost myself in her glory and audacity. I caught myself smiling after she finished speaking and most of the things she'd said were forgotten by me as I was thinking about how beautiful she was. "Uhhmm, yes. We should do that too." The board members looked at me like I'd said something abominable. "She was talking about moving her desk." One of the members said and I blinked severally, mentally smacking myself in the face. "Okay, that being said. We will have this meeting after all of what we have discussed has been put in place." They stood from their seats and I called one person back. "Doctor C," She turned around. "Or should I call you Clara?" Her face was blank,

ClaraThey paused in their steps when they saw me seated behind the table. I was taken back as well but I didn't let it get too obvious, I caught on quickly. "How may I help you?" I asked with a smile. They exchanged glances before taking the empty seats. For five seconds, or maybe seven seconds, they didn't speak, they just exchanged glances as if they were speaking to themselves with their eyes. Roxy and Lu never treated me right and if we had met under different circumstances, I would have walked them out of my office but I couldn't let them know I knew who they were. "Is there a problem?" I asked when the silence went on too long. Roxy shifted her gaze from Lu and flashed me a smile. "Not at all. There's no problem here." She replied, her face looked a bit bothered like she wasn't supposed to say what she came here to say. "I'm sorry to bother you but we came here to tell you to come back home with us." My brows arched at her words and my lips fell slightly open. "What?

3rd person povJulian wasn't the happiest about what was going on. His fear had been his rival, Adrian, getting back with Clara and he'd consoled himself with the fact that she lost her memories and no longer remembered anything that happened before the accident. But they were getting too close than necessary. He had to do something about it but he didn't want to put her off and make her feel like something was wrong just like she thought before. Julian gestured to his table and a waitress strutted towards him with a smirk. "I want more." He spoke with a husky voice and she turned the liquor in her hand into his cup. "Someone broke your heart?" She asked as she turned the drink into his cup. He ignored her the first time and gulped down the drink in one smooth move. He placed the cup on the table for another glass. She smirked and turned more liquor in. "You know, talking about heartbreak helps a bit to ease the ache." "What's your name?" Julian asked, reaching for the glass

ClaraI stormed out of the office, leaving him behind because I didn't trust my voice would be firm when I asked him to walk out of my office. My stomach rumbled as the stupid butterflies that had been dead for years now fluttered back to life. My throat clogged with something thick that threatened to disgrace me if I tried to speak. "Clara..." He called as I walked out of the office but I didn't turn back. I couldn't let him see the strange expression that now covered my face. Only when I got outside the building did I let out my breath I didn't know I've been holding in all this while. "What are you doing outside?" Julian's familiar voice made me jolt. "Huh?""What?" He asked, noticing my anxiety. "Uhm.." I swallowed the lump that blocked my throat and tried to think of something believable to tell him and fast. "What were you thinking that made you look so surprised?" He asked again, his eyes searching my face. "Nothing, I was just... I just needed a break, some fresh air.

ClaraTo think that Carl was going to say something nice at the very least. I walked out of dinner first. Julian didn't want to leave, he wanted to clear the table. He reluctantly met me at the car after a few minutes of waiting. "Why did you leave like that? You didn't even taste the chicken. It was so good." He said, still chewing what I believed was the chicken. "What kind of question is that?" I asked, my voice higher than usual and I caught myself fast enough because of the little child, Leo who was standing beside Julian, clueless about what was going on. I didn't want him to see us argue or quarrel. I wanted to raise him in a peaceful home. "You can go back if you haven't had enough but I want to leave now." I regulated my tone before speaking this time. "Let's go." He walked to the driver's door, opened it and called Leo to follow him. I led Leo to the back door and placed him on the back seat and fastened his seat belt. I settled into the front seat after making sure
