“Hey. Are you okay?” Patrick asked, and my eyes flew open at the sound of his voice. Turning around to face him, a sigh slipped past my lips. I shook my head at his question. “No. I am not okay, and you know that. I'm just…hell, I don't even know how I feel,” I mumbled, exhaustion obvious in my words as I held his gaze. He took a seat beside me before speaking. “I figured. I…well, things have been intense for the past few days now and it's hard to settle on just one feeling. So I get you. I kind of understand what you're going through.”His words were meant to be reassuring, and a part of me felt slightly reassured, but I also wanted to tell him that there was no way he could possibly relate to the turmoil inside me.
