Alle Kapitel von The Lycan's Rejected Mate: Kapitel 191 – Kapitel 196

One moment, my mind was at peace and I was happy. Nothing could ever go wrong, I thought. But then I wake up the next morning to find my mate preparing to go to war. My insides were fraught with anxiety as the council members took their seats, the lesser alphas settling down behind them. Carlos looked like he was prepared to tear into a battlefield as he took his position, deciding to stand behind Elias rather than seating beside his Alpha. Patrick and Erina sat side by side, and the room was as silent as a graveyard. Tension was high, and uncomfortable, wary silence stretched and bended, taking up space in every corner of the room.Elias stood up after what felt like forever. His expression was placid, and one would almost mistake him as calm, but he was not. Elias was absolutely nowhere close to being calm. His anger was a living thing. It writhed and twisted around him, wrapping hot red hands around his neck and squeezing hard until anger was all my mate was feeling. “War has

SOMEWHERE IN A HIDDEN BUNKER VERY CLOSE TO ELIAS’S PACKThe scientist ran a hand down the length of the table, his expression placid and betraying nothing. He was in a study, and the room was dusty. There was a chair right behind the desk he was running his hands along, but the chair was filled with so much dust and debris that it was impossible to sit on. It wasn't as though the scientist was keen on sitting anyway. He was waiting for someone, and with each moment that passed, he became even more impatient. After waiting for what felt like forever, someone rapped on the door. “Come in.”The door opened and a dark figure stepped in. The stranger was clothed in black from head to toe. Whoever it was had a raincoat on, and the hood of the coat covered the face and made it unrecognisable. The scientist however, knew who it was. Afterall, the person was the spy he had planted in Elias’s pack a long time ago. One he had had no use for until now. “Did you deliver the note?” the scient

“Are you sure this is not a trap?” Carlos asked as I signalled for him to stop. “Stop talking out loud. Of course it's not a trap. The spy has no reason to lie,” I responded in his head. “You mean except for the fact that he was turning into a mutant wolf and could have been asked by the scientist to lead us here for a cure?”I said nothing for a moment, letting my Beta's words sink into my brain. Carlos was right. When the spy — who turned out to be one of my closest guards — came to turn himself in, my first reaction was that it was a lie. A trap to lure me and the rest of the army to our deaths. But when he played me the recording of the conversation he had with that bastard, I believed him. There was a chance that the conversation could have been doctored too, but the desperation in the guard's eyes tipped me over. “A dead man has no tongue, Carlos.”“Well, he's dead now, and we are here already, so we might as well go all in,” he shrugged. Killing the guard was a difficult
