Alexander’s POVA light scoff escaped my lips as I took a long sip of my wine. Evelyn amuses me. Just when I thought she was truly trying to make peace, she couldn’t help but show herself. I don’t think I have ever met this side of her. Or probably I didn’t know her at all. After seven years of living under the same roof and being married, I had no idea she had such a sassy attitude. Even though I was a little hurt earlier by her disregard. I find myself amused by her with every encounter. It's always a new attitude every day, you never know what to expect and that keeps me on my toes. “Someone looks relaxed,” Marcus grunted, refilling his glass. “What are you thinking about?” I snickered in response, glancing around the riverbank. It is one of the places I choose to come when I cannot accommodate any kind of distraction. Just a short walk from the packhouse. A perfect place to be. I never paid much attention to the serenity as it was always a place I was aware of since childhood.
