Without my care, Kaden looked utterly miserable, his face covered in tears and snot. Disgusted, I took a step back. “You’re not my child, Kaden. You are just a product of a storyline. There are many versions of you spread across thousands of worlds. If every one of you were my child, I’d be buried in them. “This behavior is beneath you, Silvia. Stop obsessing and let him go. Like you, he’s a native of this world. You guys are meant to be.” To be honest, the mother and son made me sick. I didn’t see the point of being nice.The System shrieked in my mind, telling me to take the tone down a notch. “Silvia and Kaden have gotten a mind of their own, Player. If you can’t calm them down before reality collapses, they’ll go rogue, and you will be in danger.” I scoffed. The way I saw it, they were nothing more than code. Intelligence didn’t make them human.
