Semua Bab WANTED! KING NOLAN'S OBSESSION.: Bab 41 - Bab 50

Nolan’s POV“Please stay!”The words were so faint, that I almost thought I’d imagined them. It was like a desperate trick played on me by my own longing. But the grip on my wrist was real. Her fingers, though small and still slightly trembling, held onto me as if I were her only hope.I turned slowly, my breath hitching in my chest. Ronnie looked so vulnerable beneath the covers, there was no defiance in her gaze tonight, no witty comeback waiting to be hurled at me. There was only a girl who had experienced something traumatic and wasn’t ready to be alone with her thoughts just yet“I’m not going anywhere,” I whispered.I set the pillow and blanket down on the floor, abandoning the idea of the couch without a second thought. I climbed into the bed beside her, staying on top of the covers at first to give her the space I thought she needed. But the moment I settled, she shifted. She didn’t pull away; instead, she edged closer, her movements hesitant until her head laid gently on my s

Sloane's POV I frowned at Nolan. "What do you mean by that? Or don't you know how to speak to your elders anymore?" "I came to see if my daughter in law is doing well and you're asking me to ask for permission?" Nolan didn't reply, he just kept looking at me like I was already going mad. But I had to keep the act. Let it feel real enough for them to think I actually cared. "We need to find whoever did this and lock them up for the rest of their lives. How dare they lay a hand on the king's mate?"I took Nolan's arm. "I'm willing to do anything son. Anything to make sure that the Culprit is caught. They must pay for their sins." He released his hand from mine, though not roughly. But firm enough to let me know that I still had not bought his trust. I swallowed hard, not knowing how next to play this game. I was one who never knew how to hide her hatred for anyone, and now I had to do it for Olivia's sake. "The search team is working on it. There's no need for you to interfere.

Nolan's POV "What's going on?" I asked, worry etched on my face as I saw Uncle Levi jump into a vehicle looking so disheveled. "Drive quickly!" He barked with urgency in his tone. My mother on the other hand looked like she had seen a ghost, her hands shaking as she kept staring at the car that had already started and was ready to zoom off. "Where is he hurrying to? What's the problem? Some talk to me." I demanded. "Olivia..." My mom muttered like the news was too heavy to be announced. "What happened to Olivia?" I pressed. I could see how her body trembled as she spoke. "Olivia has been kidnapped." The news totally threw me off balance and for a couple of seconds I could not believe if I had heard right. "Kidnapped? When... How?" "Olivia was supposed to be home? Why did she leave without her guards?" I already picked my phone out in the urgency of the moment. I was ready to dial the leader of the search team, Ernest, but then I turned back to my mom to ask. "Did she by any

Ronnie's POVMy throat felt dry after letting out those words, followed by a dull pain in my chest.King Nolan looked at me with a burning gaze, though his expression didn't really give much. He said nothing afterwards, just stepped out of the room, his cigarette still burning. After he had left, I finally let out the cough I had been holding in for the longest, waving my hands in front of my face as I tried to wave off the lingering smoke in the air.It was already the early hours of the evening now, I had already spent the majority of my day being Idle and maybe that was why I felt so restless. In order to keep myself busy, I made my way to my office. The monitor's screen lit up as I clicked on the power button. I didn't have much time left, but I needed to check back into my project from Alte Tech Corp and do the needful, mostly because I had been behind for some days now.A message popped on my phone.'Jessie.' I said out."Ronnie, is everything alright? Your mother told me that y

Nolan’s POVThe morning air embraced me as I stepped into the back of the sleek black sedan. As I watched the Lycan City blur past the tinted windows, I couldn't help but think of the whole kidnapping issue that was still left unresolved. Is that how accessible the royal family has become? I thought. That was the only thing I could make sense of from this whole thing. Maybe the person wasn't necessarily trying to hurt the family, but to warn me that I was too reachable."Your majesty, the briefing for the Horizon Corp merger is on the tablet," Kim murmured from the front seat, his eyes meeting mine in the rearview mirror.I ignored the tablet, my mind still in chaos. We arrived at the corporate complex, a towering plaza of over three storeys, made of glass and steel. The place housed Horizon Corp, one of the biggest Logistics Corporation in the Kingdom. It was established by my father, and now it was being run by some of my trusted men. Andrew and Gerald. They had suggested a merger w
