I still remember the smell of smoke, thick and chocking, curling into my lungs, and the sound of my mother’s screams echoing through the house as she was slaughtered along with my father for trusting the wrong people.Though it has been a long time since that night, it is burned into me as if it happened yesterday.I was only ten years old when betrayal tore through my life like a predator, ripping me away from the normalcy I had grown up in. My father’s friend, the so-called Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack, had smiled in his presence while plotting our ruin behind closed doors. I was too young to understand the weight of deceit and the taste of betrayal back then but I felt it in every shiver that ran down my spine.I remember hiding beneath the staircase that night, my small hands clamped over my mouth to keep from screaming. Through the cracks in the wood, I saw the warriors of the Dark Moon Pack moving through our home as if they owned it, their laughter mixing with the crackling fir

Alpha Kael's POVThe fire’s warmth did nothing to chase the chill that had settled into my chest. She knelt there, slick with oil, the faint scent of jasmine clinging to her skin. The linen she wore was thin, clinging to her body, leaving nothing to the imagination. Every curve, every swell, every subtle line of her body glistened under the flickering firelight and still, she dared to resist me.Her eyes, wide and defiant, met mine even as her hands moved slowly, hesitantly, at my command. I had instructed her to touch herself and she did, inch by inch, tentatively, trembling with embarrassment, fury and something I couldn't quite place just yet.Who cares? She was being humiliated and that was enough for me.I watched her carefully, studying the way her heart throbbed at the base of her throat, the way the oil caught the light along her collarbone, highlighting the lines of her body that begged to be claimed. Every inch of her skin, exposed and glistening, challenged my restraint

The Alpha Losing ControlKael’s POV“Your blood… shouldn’t exist.”The words left my mouth before I could stop them. For a moment, silence settled between us.Liora stared at me as if I had spoken a language she did not understand. Her breathing was uneven, her chest rising and falling beneath the thin linen that barely concealed her body.Moonlight from the narrow window spilled across her skin, catching the faint sheen of oil the maids had rubbed into her earlier. The scent of jasmine lingered around her, but beneath that delicate fragrance was something far more dangerous. Her scent wrapped around my senses like smoke, warm and intoxicating. My wolf stirred violently beneath my skin.Discipline and control were the foundations of an Alpha’s power. No instinct, no desire, no impulse had ever managed to break through that control until her, until tonight. My hand was still gripping her arm. The moment I realized that, I released her abruptly.Liora sucked in a quiet breath as if she

Kael’s POVThe council stood before me, their expressions carved from centuries of authority and control. My hand remained at the small of Liora’s back, firm and possessive. I could feel the subtle rise and fall of her breathing against me, uneven despite the way she held her chin high, trying to appear unshaken. She had heard them, every word and still, she stood. The eldest council member stepped forward again, his gaze cutting through the air like a blade.“You do not understand what you are holding, Kael.”My jaw tightened.“I understand perfectly.”“No, you don’t. That girl is not a prize, she is a threat. A living weapon” another council member snapped. Liora shifted slightly beside me, just enough for me to feel it.The eldest council member's voice dropped, quieter now, but far more dangerous.“That bloodline was nearly wiped out for a reason.”I let out a slow breath, my gaze flicking briefly to Liora then back to the council.“And yet, she stands here” I said evenly.“Which

Kael’s POV The moment the doors closed behind them, I moved fast, but not fast enough to outrun what was clawing inside me. The echo of her scent still lingered in the throne hall and I couldn’t take it anymore. My jaw clenched as I walked briskly down the corridor, my boots striking against the marble floors in sharp, deliberate steps. Guards stepped aside instantly, servants lowering their heads as I passed. No one spoke, no one dared because if anyone had looked too closely, they would have seen the crack in my control. I pushed open the doors to my chambers without slowing down. They slammed shut behind me with a heavy thud. I exhaled slowly, dragging a hand through my hair as I tried to steady myself. Her scent and tatse was still there. That brief moment when her blood had touched my tongue had made my wolf surge violently beneath my skin. “No” I snarled under my breath. I would not lose control, not because of her, not because of some cursed bloodline that s
