Prologue

Elena's PovWith each step I took out of the manor, the words kept replaying, at the back of my head, 'Mate... Rejection...' just as the same husk voice from my dream repeated these same words. I just hope it doesn't come true. The night poured down its chills, allowing them to sink into my skin as I walked into the big hall. I raised my head staring at the moon which shone through the glass, pouring down its milky light." Happy birthday, Lena." A familiar feminine voice came behind me. I turned sharply, my jaw dropped. Utterly stunned, I never believed someone would remember this day. " Thanks so much!" I said. Today was my last hope, I didn't shift when I turned fifteen. And today, I am eighteen. I just prayed it would happen. I wanted to see my wolf. I don't want to be classified as an omega. " Don't worry dear, your wolf would be gorgeous." She said, wrapping her hands around my body. Her warm hug made my heart melt." I hope it comes true." I said, my voice low. I stared at

Elena's Pov" Mum, just cheer up, it's your birthday today." Moses said, his voice calm as he wrapped his hands around my waist. His words touched the depth of my soul, but I could never forget that day, how Jayden rejected me eight years ago. On my very eighteenth birthday. No matter how far it was, I still could not shake off the feeling of what he did." Yes dear." I answered, my voice low. I wanted to sound firm and calm, but my voice betrayed me as it shook slightly. I felt a sharp pain in my chest. With every birthday, it was supposed to be a day to celebrate my plus one year. But, now it's just like a memory of a deep pain in my chest. I patted his head as he tugged my shirt again. " Urgh, okay. What do you want us to do?" I asked, my voice came out low. " Let's cut the cake." He said, as he dragged me towards the table. I smiled, this son of mine is a tank, he eats a lot. " Don't do that," I said. " Meet your dad, and tell him you need a cupcake." I said, patting his head

Elena's PovI froze in my steps, turning my head slightly but didn't look at him. " I said, get out of my pack." The words stumbled out of my mouth. I didn't wait, I dashed out of the hall with my red gown flying right behind my back. I move through the grand hallway, the sweet scent of rose rose Mary hitting my nose. At that moment, I paused. Blake was close, and was following right behind me, he didn't want to show himself. Letting out a deep breath, I continued moving, my steps were energetic as the portraits also stared as I moved right through the hall without sparing them a glance...As soon as I got into the room, I shot the door behind me, swiping off the tears on my face. " Why did he come back?" I screamed... At no one exactly, I just yelled at myself. " Why... Did... He... Come... Back!" With each word, I landed a tight punch across the wall. As my hands collided with it, I felt the room temperature decrease with each second... I raised my head staring at the red curtai

Elena's Pov" Blake," I called. " Blake!" My voice was louder this time, as he slammed the door shut. " No no no no... This can't be happening!" I cried, my voice cutting through the room. Tears slowly cascaded down my eyes like never before, for the first time in 8 years, I cried. Why? Why does Jayden have to come back? Why does he have to show up in the picture? I knew this day would come, I knew it! I gripped the duvet tightly as it was the only thing that could cover my sorrows at this moment, nothing else could do it. " Why!" I cried, my voice echoed through the corridors of this mansion. I stared at the ceiling as this room itself became my boredom. I stared as the chandelier kept rolling with the support of the ropes. I lowered my gaze, staring blankly at the lantern beside me. My mind clouded with thoughts of the past. Questions rising from every corner. What should I do? If I thought of my sorrows, what about my son? Will he be fatherless? Damn! I was left in a tight corn

Chapter 4

Elena's PovI leapt into the air, sounds of cracking bones filled the air as I transformed into my wolf Evie, landing on all fours. I continued, sprinting, trailing my son's scent. His whimper filled my heart like a shot of siren. His lavender oil scent filled the air like never before sending his adrenaline everywhere, I could sense his fear, his pain. I could sense him whole. I didn't wait, didn't pause, I continued through the hall heading wherever my paw sent me. As soon as I got to the great hall, I saw my son lying on the floor, convulsing. Slowly, I got close to him, channelling all my healing energy into my paw before placing it on him. I let out a deep sigh. As I counted each second that died. 1... 2... 30... But, he didn't stop the convulsion, I was getting weaker as his energy was draining me like a suction. My wolf blinked, a drop of tear falling. I could sense the overwhelming pain inside of me." Err!" I let out a low growl, channeling the remaining force in me. And y
