Mireya’s POV “I’m glad you finally made up your mind, Mireya,” My mother smiled at me. I decided to meet her to ask for her advice regarding the severing of the bond that she had told me about. Our plan will likely anger Alpha Edward, so we decided to meet up in a local restaurant, an hour's travel from Alpha Edward’s territory. “Whose the Elder you are talking about, Mom?” I asked dropping off whatever casual conversation she plans to have. We don’t have time. We have to do this fast. Mom sipped on her tea then she let out a deep breath and stared into my eyes. “Elder Vitus,” My forehead immediately formed a crease. “E-Elder Vitus? You remain in contact with him, Mom? The King exiled him. He was punished for treason. Being connected to him means committing treason too,” Mom shook her head aggressively. She even waved her hand on my face and started looking around in panic. If someone hears that she was still connected to Elder Vitus then she will be stripped of her tit

Mireya’s POV “What are you saying, Aurelia?” She didn’t respond. She just smiled at me, her eyes telling something I couldn’t decipher. “Aurelia.” I held her wrist out of desperation for an answer then her smile faded. Her forehead creased and equaled my confusion. Here she goes again, acting all confused after telling something that would flip my world. “Aurelia what is wrong with you?!” I don’t want to be mad at her but I've had enough. I know I shouldn’t put all my irritation on her but I couldn’t help it. I have so much on my plate and here she is telling something confusing then she will act as if she didn’t say anything at all. “Mireya, it hurts,” she complained and that’s when I snapped back to my senses. I immediately let go of her wrist and looked at her apologetically. “I’m sorry. I was just…I was just confused. You just said something, Aurelia, did you forget already?” She shook her head and massaged the wrist that had turned red from my hold. I didn’t e

Mireya’s POV No. He must be mistaken. He was just lonely. I shook my head refusing to accept his confession. “You’re just lonely, Azrael. You have been kept inside the dungeon for all your life. My presence was just new to you. The bond we shared made you believe you had feelings for me, but you don’t. It’s just the stupid bond that connects us—“ “Sever the bond then,” My forehead creased but I didn’t speak. I just stared at him. “Sever the bond and if my feelings for you stayed then what will you do, Mireya?” His gaze became even more intense. There’s already a distance between us but it still feels like he was standing too close. “Nothing,” I bravely responded and fought his stare. “Because those stupid feelings of yours won’t linger, Azrael,” I stormed out of the room cutting that stupid conversation. He will just keep on insisting on his stupid feelings and I will keep on denying it…because I am right. He wasn’t falling for me. He doesn’t have any reason to fall for me.

Mireya’s POV I roamed my eyes around. Who was that? “What’s wrong, Mireya?” Mom asked, probably confused about the way I am acting. “You didn’t hear anything?” I couldn’t help but ask. Maybe it wasn’t just me. Maybe she heard it too. With the light coming from the moon above us, I saw how my mother’s brows furrowed. “Heard what?” Before I could respond a loud tapping on the floor took our attention. As I turned my head in the direction from where the sound came from, I saw a silhouette stepping out of what seemed like an abandoned house. As the silhouette came closer and closer a figure of an old man became clear. He wears an old grey robe that seems to be worn for ages. He has a long beard that touches his chest. “What brought you here?” It was him. That voice. He just spoke in my mind a few moments ago. His eyes first landed on my mother before they shifted to me. He was staring as if there was something wrong with my face. “I can’t help you,” he added even

Mireya’s POV I was trying to convince myself that Elder Vitus is lying. Maybe he had it all wrong. Maybe he was mistaken about Azrael…but the way he looked at me says it all. He meant every word. He knows something about Azrael that I don’t. “H-He won’t c-cause any h-harm. He isn’t a bad man,” I still defended. “Maybe you are right about his wolf but Azrael will never use his wolf to hurt someone,” “How sure are you, Mireya?” Elder Vitus stared straight into my eyes. “How sure are you that Azrael will never use his wolf to his advantage?” Words got stuck in my throat. I want to tell him that I know Azrael more than him but I am not even sure of that. Do I really know Azrael? Do I really know him? Accepting my defeat I looked at Elder Vitus and met his gaze. “What should I do then? What can I do to stop Azrael from unleashing his wolf?” Elder Vitus took a deep breath then he stood. His knees were already trembling, and without his cane, he would end up falling to the fl
