Semua Bab Reborn for Vengeance: Never Again a Substitute: Bab 41 - Bab 50

Mireya’s POVDuring the ride back to the palace my mind was flying somewhere else. My Mom keeps asking questions but I couldn’t entertain any of them. I don’t know what I should do anymore. I don’t know what I should think and I don’t know who to trust. In the first place, I shouldn’t have trusted Azrael anyway. A man who uses black magic and defies Moon Goddess will never be trusted but I still unconsciously trust him. I told myself not to fall for him…But I still did. Things would be easier if I didn’t feel anything towards him. Everything would be easier if he were nothing but a man I made a deal with. “Mireya!” my mother called, much louder this time. I turned to her then my gaze passed through and that’s when I realized we had already arrived at the forest, a few meters away from the palace. “What’s happening to you?” she asked pulling my attention back on her. “Tell me you sever the bond, Mireya,” I can hear her desperation for an answer to end her never-endin

Mireya’s POV A smile crept on my lips when I saw ten dresses hanging inside my closet. The Caius that I knew never answered to my whim but I guess he’s really desperate to win me back. “Are any of these dresses to your liking, Lady Mireya?” Serene asked, the Royal dressmaker who used to make all my dresses when I was still the Luna Queen. I have quite a few encounters with her in my previous life but we were never close. She never liked me. She may call me Luna Queen but she never looked at me that way. In her eyes, I am a lowlife she-wolf who seduced Caius for power. I let it slide back then even though I heard her and her assistants gossiping about me. I pretended like I didn’t hear anything and I regretted doing that. “Can you try them on me for me? I want to see what it looks like when worn,” I told her. She raised her eyebrows and pointed at herself. “You want me to try them on, Lady Mireya?” she clarified. I nodded at her and sat on the couch across my bed. I s

Mireya’s POV Caius stilled. He stared at Blaire for quite some time then his head turned to Azrael. “Did you agree on this, Azrael?” It took some seconds before I heard Azrael’s response. “Yeah. I did,” he simply said. I thought Caius would look at Blaire again, but instead, he glanced at me as if he was making sure I heard everything clearly. Why? Does he want to see disappointment in my face? Does he think I would be miserable just because I heard Azrael agree on the marriage? I looked away and grabbed the glass of wine sitting on the table. I drank it straight, letting its sweetness and bitterness cut through my throat. Foolish me, I ended up choking and coughing loudly, taking everyone’s attention. Why do you have to make it even more awkward, Mireya? “Are you okay, Mireya?” Aurelia asked, handing me a glass of water which I immediately drank. I kept on hitting my chest until air came back. “Are you okay, Mireya?” Blaire went to me as well, Caius and Azrael

Mireya’s POV I pushed him away, terrified of what he would find out. It feels like the liquor was drained out of my veins and I was completely sober. “Mireya,” Caius’ voice echoed down the hall. I immediately wiped my lips and straightened the skirt of my dress trying my best to look decent after what just happened. As Caius’ footsteps got closer and closer the beating of my heart became even more violent. Why do I feel so guilty? I didn’t do anything wrong. Azrael was the one who kissed me not the other way around. And it’s not like I have the obligation to be faithful to Caius anyway. “I was looking for you,” Caius gently held my elbow and pulled me towards him, then his gaze shifted to Azrael. “You’re here too, Azrael,” he added. Azrael smiled while touching his lower lip. It seemed like he was giving a hint about what had just happened. It wasn’t a mannerism, he was doing it on purpose. I am certain about that. “Azrael!” Blaire’s voice followed. I didn’t bother lo

Mireya’s POV “I don’t want you,” I repeated. I have no idea if it was for him or to convince myself that I don’t want Azrael, but no matter how hard I try to deny it, my body was already betraying me. When he raised his hand, and carefully wiped the strands of my hair that stuck on my face, I automatically leaned on his palm. I saw how the corner of his lips rose. “I don’t want you, Azrael,” I whispered weakly. Azrael cupped my face with his huge palm and nodded. “Yes. You don’t want me, Mireya,” He started leaning in, and being an idiot I closed my eyes and anticipated his kiss. I thought he would tease me again. I thought he would never claim my lips but this time he did. My body stilled when his lips touched mine. It wasn’t the first time he kissed me. He kissed me before but this time it was different because we are both naked—and we both knew how much we want each other. That fucking jade concealed the bond but it failed to conceal my uncontrollable desire. E
