Prologue

*********************🔥🔥Prologue 🔥🔥~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The first time he kissed her, it was with blood on his mouth, but it was not his but her blood. Her back was pressed against the wall of the war tent, lips split from battle, body slick with the sweat of a dozen kills. She'd slaughtered his guards like wheat. Cut through them without mercy. And yet she hadn't killed him. Not yet.He gripped her by the throat like he meant to crush it, but his thumb slid slow against her pulse instead. Savoring it and studying it. Like he wanted to know if monsters like her even had heartbeats. Like he wanted to memorize the rhythm before he stopped it himself."You're very beautiful," he said, voice dark and ruined. "So goddamn beautiful for a serpent who came here to kill me."She smiled with all her teeth, blood staining the corners of her mouth. "You weren't supposed to see me coming.""I didn't." His mouth hovered over hers, close enough that she could taste the rage on his breath. His other h

Finding Her

Chapter 1️⃣ Three (3) Years Later: Khyrador Palace Throne Room: Two men were kneeling on the ground, shaking with fear as they stared at the man seated on the throne. But he wasn't sitting normally. Oh no. He was upside down, his feet touching where his head was supposed to be while his head, which was resting where his ass should have been, stared straight forward at the two men. His dark eyes narrowed dangerously and his white teeth were razor sharp and scary, but somehow they looked perfect in his impossibly handsome face. If you didn't know better, you'd think he was trying out for some twisted circus act. But the blood stains on the marble floor said otherwise. "So?" His voice cut through the silence like a blade. "I couldn't find her, my King." The first man answered, his voice shaking so badly the words barely came out. He knew this was the end of him for failing to find whoever the king was looking for. Before he could even finish his sentence, his head came rolling dow

Reborn to Hunt Her

Chapter 2️⃣ ❤️ Reborn to Hunt Her ❤️ The night he died, Draevon opened his eyes expecting to see the underworld or maybe nothing at all. Instead, he found himself staring at the familiar ceiling of his chamber. What the hell? He sat up so fast he nearly fell out of bed. His hands flew to his throat, searching for the burning sensation of poison, but there was nothing. No pain or death rattle. Just him, in his bed, very much alive and very much confused. This had to be some kind of sick joke. Maybe his soul was lingering, stuck in some twisted memory before moving on to whatever afterlife waited for kings who died like idiots. Then his chamber door burst open and she walked in. Miraeve. His sister. His dead sister who'd been ambushed and killed by Malgron's daughter six months ago. The sister he'd buried with his own hands, whose grave he visited every morning. But there she was, alive and breathing and complaining about something, probably about him sleeping in again. Draev

Violence and Food

Chapter 3️⃣ ❤️ Violence and Food ❤️She turned to the boy, ready to just walk away, but he was still staring at her with wide eyes. Not scared eyes though, but impressed eyes. "That was amazing!" he breathed. "You moved so fast I didn't even see it! And the way you just BAM and his head went flying and then WHOOSH and the arms were gone and..." "Kid, shut up." "Right, sorry. I am not a kid though, I just look young." He cleared his throat, trying to look dignified despite the fact that he was shaking. "Thank you for saving my life. How can I repay you?" Kaelithra looked at him. Then looked at his basket. Then back at him. "Food." "What?" "Give me the food. That's my payment." The boy looked down at his basket, then back up at her, conflicted. "But... this is my dinner..." "Then I guess you're not grateful enough." She turned to leave. "WAIT!" He ran after her, thrusting the basket into her arms. "Take it! Please! You saved my life, it's the least I can do!" Kaelithra look

Two Monsters

Chapter 5️⃣ ❤️ Two Monsters ❤️ Ironblood Kingdom: King Malgron sat on his throne, looking every bit the immortal tyrant he was. If you didn't know better, you'd think he was maybe in his late twenties or early thirties at most. Handsome in that sharp, dangerous way that said "I could kill you and look good doing it." His long shoulder length green hair was left undone and freshly combed. He looked more like Kaelithra's older brother than her father, which was just one of the perks of being over a thousand years old and immortal. Right now though, he didn't look very happy. He looked pissed off. In front of him, sitting cross legged on the floor like she was meditating was the dark siren. She was middle aged but still beautiful. Her yellow hair was braided in intricate cornrows that fell down her back. They were alone in the throne room, which was probably for the best considering what they were discussing. "Well?" Malgron demanded, his fingers drumming impatiently on the armre

Bullied

❤️ Bullied ❤️"You are sick in the head, you know that," Malgron said, his voice shaking with barely controlled rage."Aww, thank you!" Draevon's face lit up like Malgron had just given him the best compliment ever. "That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me, Malgron. I'm truly touched. Really."Then his smile dropped and his face went cold. Ice cold."Ask your siren to track faster," he said quietly, each word sharp as a blade.Without waiting for a response, Draevon walked back to the throne and flicked his fingers at it.The entire throne crumpled like paper and crashed to the floor in a heap of twisted metal and wood.Just like that. A throne that had stood for centuries, destroyed with a casual flick.Malgron's eye twitched so hard he thought it might fall out of his skull.Draevon strolled toward the doors, whistling that same cheerful tune. When he reached them, he didn't bother opening them properly. He just kicked one of the massive throne room doors clean off its hinges

Blame Marl

❤️ Blame Marl ❤️Duskwatch Village:The following day came faster than Kaelithra had anticipated. One moment she was closing her eyes to sleep, the next moment sunlight was streaming through the cracks in her wooden shutters and hitting her directly in the face like it had a personal grudge against her.She groaned and rolled over, pulling her thin blanket over her head.Five more minutes. Just five more minutes of peace before she had to deal with whatever chaos the day had in store. She got about two minutes before someone started banging on her shop door like they were trying to break it down."THRA! THRA! OPEN UP! IT'S HAPPENING!"Kaelithra recognized that voice. Of course she did. It was the same voice that had been annoying her for the past few years.Marl.She considered ignoring him. Pretending she was still asleep or maybe dead. But the banging just got louder and more insistent."THRA! I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE! WAKE UP!"With a sigh that came from the very depths of her soul,

The Warrior Chef

❤️ The Warrior Chef ❤️Duskwatch Village:He came at her again, this time with a combination of punches. Kaelithra blocked, dodged and ducked. She was still holding back, still making it look like she was struggling, but she could feel her muscle memory taking over.Years of training and years of killing. It was hard to suppress that completely.Korgath swept her leg. She went down but rolled out of the way before he could follow up. The crowd was getting into it now, shouting and cheering.Well, most of them were cheering for Korgath. Marl was the only one screaming for her."GO THRA! YOU CAN DO IT! KICK HIS ASS!"Bless that stupid vampire.Kaelithra got back to her feet. Korgath was smiling at her, he was actually enjoying himself."You're full of surprises, little one," he said. "Shall we get serious now?"And then he really came at her.Fast. Too fast for someone his size. His fist came at her face like a battering ram.Kaelithra's instincts kicked in.She ducked under the punch,

The Hunchback at the Ball

❤️ The Hunchback at the Ball ❤️Later that afternoon, after Korgath had cooked the promised meal, Kaelithra and Marl sat outside her shop eating like they hadn't seen food in weeks. The honey glazed duck was incredible. The roasted vegetables were perfect. The bread was still warm and soft. Kaelithra was pretty sure she'd died and gone to some kind of food heaven."This is amazing," Marl said through a mouthful of duck, completely forgetting his table manners. "Thra, we need to fight this guy more often.""We didn't fight together, idiot. I lost. You just stood there screaming.""Moral support is important!"Korgath laughed from where he was packing up his cooking supplies. "You two remind me of my own friends back home. Always bickering but clearly caring for each other."Kaelithra grunted in response, too busy eating to form any words. They finished the meal in comfortable silence, well, as silent as it could be with Marl making happy humming noises every time he took a bite. When t

Not His Golden Son

❤️ Not His Golden Son ❤️As they walked toward the head table together, through the stares and whispers and barely contained disgust, Kaelithra kept her head down and her posture hunched. Just a poor, ugly hunchback. Nothing to see here.Marl led her right up to his father, his chin lifted despite the embarrassment."Father," he said formally, "I'd like you to meet my friend. This is Thra."The Vampire King looked at Kaelithra with those ancient eyes. His name was Aldric, and he was known across the realms as the Blood Crown, though most people were too afraid to call him that to his face."Thra," King Aldric said slowly, as if tasting the name. He stood from his throne and extended his hand. "Welcome to my son's birthday celebration."His voice was polite. His face showed nothing but courtly manners. But Kaelithra could see the disgust in his eyes, the way his jaw tightened slightly when he looked at her.Still, she reached out and shook his hand. It was the polite thing to do.The m
