By the time I got back to the house, I still hadn't fully put myself together and seeing the looks on Selene's and Mira’s faces was not helping matters. I walked into the room and slowly closed the door behind me. “What's with the looks on your faces?” I asked as I moved to sit on the bed. My frown deepened as they both exchanged glances, making me uncomfortable. “Did something happen?” I tried again. Mira looked as if she wanted to speak but was not sure of what to say. ARIAWhat. The. Actual. Fuck.“What?” Surely, I must have heard wrongly. He didn't respond. My eyes nearly burst out of my head with shock, and cold sweat ran down my back.“What the fuck are you doing, you pervert!” I yelled as I started to fight him again but it was useless.“Mind your language, Aria. I do not entertain hearing foul language from a woman.”“You are crazy.” I whispered with disbelief. “This is the twenty first century!” I cried. “Who still does this? No one does this anymore. ARIA I still felt uneasy ever since Valen left hours ago. True to his words, Mira hadn't suspected that I had been in the room with someone else. She concluded that I had delayed answering the door because I was trying to clean up my tears. Although it was embarrassing, it was still better than being caught in an act that would land me somewhere I wasn't interested in. Now, I sat opposite Alaric at a long dining table, and we ate in silence together. The food tasted like metal in my mouth, especially with all the tension that was going on inside me. I slowly looked around the space, as it was the first time I had ever entered this part of the house. I refused to have dinner in my room becaue being cooped up in a prison disguised as my room would not get me out of here. “Did something happen?”I forked up some eggs and placed them in my mouth. VALEN I walked into Aria's room and looked around. She had asked to go outside, which had me surprised. I thought she was going to sulk for a long time. But it seemed as though she was beginning to accept her fate. I looked around and dragged my fingers along the door. The windows were locked, which made the room a bit dark. I walked over and opened it, looking down at the land. I waited a bit longer when I saw Aria walk to a bush of flowers and plucked one to smell. I scoffed when she squeezed her face and threw it to the floor. I shook my head and turned to leave but stopped when I saw finger prints on the dust, right there on the window. They weren't clear but I was sure of what I was seeing. I looked at Aria again before looking at the prints again. I studied it closer to be sure, and I was sure of what it was.
