Lahat ng Kabanata ng DEAR HUSBAND, I'M DONE: Kabanata 31 - Kabanata 40

ELENA'S POVI sat in a car and wondered if Adrian would fall for Jacinta's wild idea. Left to me, I would have gone without making any effort, but then, again it wouldn't be a terrible idea to make Adrian jealous after treating me like I was meant absolutely nothing to him.My phone chimed and when I looked at the caller ID; it was Adrian. I wondered what his reason was for calling me. If it was to cancel, it would render all the effort of getting dressed completely useless. I retrieved a small mirror from my purse and examined my reflection once more. I could not deny that Jacinta did an exceptional job on my face, and unconsciously, my thoughts drifted towards Danielle, and I couldn't help but wonder if Adrian would still feel that Danielle was more stunning and desirable than I was."No, Elena, you need to stop this," I shook my head and whispered to myself. "You are gorgeous and more than enough and Adrian was never the right man for you, that was why he failed to cherish you," I

ELENA'S POV For a moment, we both stood there staring at each other in silence. The hatred in his gaze was almost tangible and it made me deeply uncomfortable. I had been told he was coming back, but I never expected it to be this soon, or worse, to walk into the house and find him standing right there. What are you doing here?" He asked, his voice dripping with venom."Zach," I breathed out.For years I have not spoken to him nor called his name, and it felt strange on my tongue. Zach flinched at the sound of his name from my mouth."I asked you a question," Zach said. The more he spoke, the more his anger crept into his voice."Before I stubbornly walked out of the house, Zach and I had been the closest of siblings, even closer than Martin and I were, but after I left, he completely shut me out and I never bothered to reach out or amend the damage between us. I had been too caught up trying to make my marriage with Adrian work that I had ended up neglecting the people who mattered

DANIELLE’S POVDanielle walked into her house worn out, irritated, seething with anger, and drowning in bitterness. Why the heck did that stupid girl call Adrian right when things were about to happen. Danielle whispered to herself. She buried her face in the pillows and groaned in frustration after Adrian had bolted out after answering Elena's call and no amount of pleading or sweet word had worked to make him stay. This is important, Danielle," Adrian had said and rushed out without looking back."They had nearly kissed and Danielle knew that moment would have changed everything in her favor. It wasn't really difficult to get Adrian to have an affair with her before; he had been a straying husband drawn to the forbidden fruit that lived outside his marriage and she had been more than happy to offer it to him, but giving it to him had made Danielle hunger for him completely, so she had worked relentlessly and without rest to ensure that the marriage between Adrian and Elena crumbl

ELENA'S POV My eyes widened in shock at what I was seeing, and I did not even realize when I screamed , making Declan rush into the room. Are you okay?" Declan asked with concern.I looked at him, speechless.“What happened?” Declan asked, a look of confusion and unease settling on his face. The words stuck in my throat, unable to say out the words. My eyes shifted from Declan to my phone, and I could hardly believe what I was reading.Declan carefully moved closer to the bed, stretched his neck to catch a glimpse of what made me acting so strange and unsettling, and at the same time, his maintaining distance. I decided it was time to ease him out of his restless concern. The headlines,” I said.Declan stared at me, even more confused now.“What’s happening with the headlines?” he asked.“There’s news about me in there,” I said, then paused. “About us, actually,” I corrected.Declan’s brow creased even deeper in confusion. “What are you talking about?” he asked.I decided then to

*ELENA'S POV I stormed off to work, more furious than I had been when I left Declan's apartment. How dare Adrian insinuate that I was a loose woman? He would never see me as anything other than what he had already made up his mind about, and it made my stomach turn in irritation. Every time I convinced myself that I could tolerate Adrian's behavior, he just went ahead and outdid himself beyond what I anticipated.I arrived at work much earlier than I used to and I froze in my tracks when I spotted Martin standing outside, waiting for me.I exhaled deeply and I walked up to him after I had gotten over the surprise of seeing him there. "Don't tell me you are also here to scold me," I said to Martin."We have been worried about you," I said instead, brushing past my earlier statement.By 'we', I knew Zach was not included, but I let it go. Martin had a troubled expression on his face and it made me uneasy as well."Is everything alright?" I asked."Can we talk here?" Martin asked me.We
