ELENA'S POVThe clean, familiar scent of antiseptic filled the sunlit hospital room as the lead physician stepped back, placing his stethoscope into his coat pocket. It had been over a week since that terrifying morning on the muddy shores of the island. Over seven days of bed rest, intravenous fluids, and round-the-clock monitoring, but the faint, lingering shadow of fear was finally beginning to lift.Standing at the foot of the bed, Grace and Mr. Hudson watched the doctor with anxious, hopeful eyes, their hands tightly intertwined. "Her vitals are completely stable now," the doctor announced, a warm, reassuring smile spreading across his face. "The severe abdominal pain was caused by extreme physical stress and acute exhaustion, but the fetuses are entirely unharmed. The ultrasound shows three strong, healthy heartbeats. The babies are thriving, Miss Elena."Grace let out a loud, shuddering breath, pressing her handkerchief to her mouth as tears of pure gratitude filled her eyes.
